In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.

AS STATED ON THE EMAIL I RECIVED; Referring to Wilco as Kim jon wilco. Referring to this community as north korea... We don't have closed borders, feel free to get out and stay out.

What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?

I have been spending most of my time with my partner and her little boy. I occasionally come on to play Arma 3 or Rocket League. Also I am at university now studying for my degree.

Why do you want to return ?

Firstly let me say this I didn’t want to have to make another appeal yet I’m am being accused of being abusive when that really is not the case at all. Abuse will not be tolerated. So here I am banned for something I said in a PRIVATE CHAT where I was talking to some people about me leaving and how I felt. This intern got leaked to management because this person wanted to get Support. (Yes I know who you are, don’t worry. I’m over it)

In other words is it one rule for you and another for us? Wilco apologized and everything was fine so why when I apologised like I did in my previous report did I then get denied? I’m not going to apologize twice for what I said because what I said is in the past.


Just so we are clear this is why I said what I said. You banned my friend and I was upset. I was upset because he had done so much for this community and then he was gone within a blink of an eye. I was pissed off, and being a human being I reacted the way I did because I was pissed off. I just want to play a game at the end of the day with a few friends and have a good time. I was never one for drama and I stayed well clear of it for the 2 years I was playing on the server.


In my last appeal I was told;


“We have an obligation to protect our members from abuse: This includes members of management / support / our players and anyone else. We cannot therefore, lift bans on those guilty of such indiscretions - It sends out the wrong message: "Abuse can be forgiven" which of course, it cannot.”
How can Wilco say this to someone, and then apologize and it is ok? Then me say something that is quiet bad but not as bad as that, and then apologize and it’s not ok? I do not really understand the logic behind it. In no way in this appeal am I trying to cause anymore drama, I’m just trying to point out the facts and get my head around why it’s ok for one and not for the other.


Hopefully you will see that all I’m trying to do is get back to playing with my friends and keep my head down rather that cause you more drama than what it’s worth. Maybe you will let me reply in this appeal or maybe we can do deal if I can prove myself like the old days.

First of all - When I take a decision here, I base it on the information I have concerning the person whom is appealing. This avoids a "he said this", "he said that" scenario and keeps it straightforward.

Secondly, you stand much more chance of me looking upon this favourably if you'd strike a more conciliatory tone rather than the one you've taken here.

I'll get back to this in the not too distant future...

I apologies for my tone I didn’t mean to upset anyone. Also, I am trying to have a conciliatory tone. I’m trying my hardest to sort this situation out the best I can without causing any arguments or sounding aggressive towards yourself.

I do not get involved in unban appeals anymore so you will see no decision from myself or any internal influence that's why the community has FFG and we all know he is good at what he does.

I am getting some sort of feeling from this you have an issue against me, I personally do not care if you do and what you said previously (That is why I am where I am and have been for so long - Some call it a strong backbone)  Its a very interesting approach you have gone for here which I will go into more further below.

I was not fully aware you was banned until I read this appeal today and looking at the whats-app message I do not recall it so it couldn't of been me, but to double check you was banned by Neo which was carried out in accordance to the way we dealt with that sort of thing back then, he also replied to your leaving post.

Now onto the private conversation between me and Jamz, What you fail to understand here this is someone who was in a position for a good 6 months which myself and other members of the then Altis Life UK team spoke to on a daily basis, His actions and his change of tone was out of the blue and shocking and upsetting to us it was not how the Jamz we all knew and considered a friend ever acted or ever talked.

His position was removed before his actions later on and quite rightly so, We all agreed that he had overstepped the mark regardless of how much we all liked him.

I did apologise to the screenshot however i do feel to this day people overreacted and was easily offended, however to be blunt and without offence the difference in our positions in this community is quite frankly night and day, I founded this place with my own personal funds (we didn't ask for donations until month 3), made many tough decisions that many people would crumble over and poured almost 3 years of my life into now just for others to enjoy and explore there urges to Roleplay further.

Do not get me wrong I am not by any means saying I am untouchable here, I can tell you I am not! and would be removed if the board and management felt the need to do.

Your position here was a player who decided to overstep the mark at a time of zero tolerance to people trying to destabilise this community and cause un-needed drama, We do of course love our player-base and there outstanding loyalty but you must understand we built a place from scratch the hard way and not off the back of another community. So of course we will protect it, No one who gives up there own free time here should listen to any petty name calling.

I must end on a point where I think there is more to it than this and would love you to maybe PM me and explain and I urge you to change the tone a little as you have come in here all guns blazing in front of a community manager that is impartial and is likely to see that as a bad trait... maybe

Right - I'm at home and I've given some time to look at this objectively.

My job here is to rule on these things impartially. Management has given me the autonomy to rule as I see fit when it comes to permanent unbans - sometimes they agree with my decisions, sometimes not, so for the avoidance of any doubt - I look at all of these with impartiality.

I’m also not here to rule on what anyone else said or did: Just the person who is banned.

However, for the record, while some could argue Wilco’s choice of words were perhaps not the best - he did immediately apologise for any offence caused - clearly the right thing to do and I don’t believe for a minute it was actually intended to cause offence - the context around the situation confirms this as far as I'm concerned. Furthermore,  I do not condone any type of abuse and if I felt there was a culture of that in the management here, I would simply leave. Given I’ve been here approaching 3 years, It’s safe to say that simply isn’t happening.

You, on the other hand, embarked upon what can only be described as an intentional activity to compare a member of the team here to a human rights abusing Dictator while simultaneously comparing this community to an oppressed society. You didn’t just speak Ill of Wilco, you spoke ill off the community at large.

This disappoints me greatly.

If you strongly felt there was an issue with this community (or anyone in it), you should have approached it in a respectful and adult way - perhaps a post on the forum voicing your concerns (as people occasionally do) or contacting a member of staff would have been a better path to take.

So for that reason, combined with the tone of your post, you have not convinced me that you would not re-offend. For that reason, for the second time, you will not be unbanned.

I appreciate you will find this disappointing, but, I hope moving forward you will accept this graciously and move on.
