In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.

I was banned because the name 'big ian' was taken as some sort of insult to Wilco, which after I used the name I was told was his name. While I think it happened too quickly and no one told/asked me about it, I now get why it was so quickly assumed to be directed that way.

What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?

Its only been 3, however I think I am ready to come back and appeal, the last appeal was minutes after the ban and still in the heat of the moment, at the time -actually explaining my side was more just being pissed/ranting. I played elsewhere for a month or two and lost interest in it, and Arma in general. Took my A levels which I'm waiting for in August. I've been working, going out, playing CSGO and Siege.

Why do you want to return ?

I want to return because I put a lot of hours into the server in the 14 ish months I was here and I feels I should be here, as much as I moved on quickly, I have a lot of memories here and this is where I started out on Arma, meeting most of the people I play Arma with today.
I understand why, at the time, the name didn't exactly look good coming from someone in a gang which was on thin ice already, however at the time I thought I was pretty trusted, I had no prev bans. A few staff I got on with, which is all why I had no idea why I was banned at first. Before 183; I started out with a few friends back in early/mid 2017, I joined the police and spent most of my time there having only left about a month before I was banned. Somewhere in the middle I also left for a month.
Either way, most of my time was in a white-listed faction and I was a part of many events.
I want to return to talk/play again with a lot of people in the police etc, and to be where I know everyone best. Where it started out for me.
Recently I lost interest in Arma and haven't played much since after my exams since I barely played anything for the 2/3 weeks before, while I was banned.

Why should we unban you ?

I think the whole situation was skipped and the conclusion that I was just taking the piss and didn't care, and was 'discriminating' was jumped to. Genuinely, I didn't even know your name was Ian, nor did I know you. If I just wanted 5 seconds of fame and to get banned with a bang, it wouldn't have been like this. But I don't see the point anyway having started out here and put the time I did into the server - so I wouldn't do that anyway. I feel like just because of the gang I was in, it was instantly assumed to be some 'attack on staff' or whatever. Even though before I joined the gang, eg, had I been in the police still, I think it would have been dealt with differently and understood/believed more and I wouldn't be here writing this. Although, I don't regret my time in that gang, nor my time with them after being banned, even though that group might not have been a great fit for the server,I met a lot of people and had good times on/off Arma, just in general.
A lot was said, even that I was bringing back some old joke from years ago. I joined in 2017, had no idea what you meant by that. It was also said I was a part of .ket, I barely knew any of ket, and only a few were in 183.
Instead of bringing back everything said, I'll finish by saying this in game name was not directed at anyone and not meant to 'discriminate' against anyone. I've played as plenty of names without even thinking about then, shit like phill mitchell, dot branning, big steve, etc all of which in context of Eastenders / Coronation street as a joke.
I put a lot into this server and was gone, just like that, and at first I had no idea

I believe you knew what you were doing

This is a sad little name some salty people who got banned and started another community came up within 2015 when I was a little overweight. it's old it's pathetic

I'll start with the fact that, you said this name was in 2015, I didn't even have a PC / Arma then, and knew nothing about this - or the people who said it. Before my ban I also didn't play on any other communities much, now and then with irl friends to have a laugh as hobos, its different when no-one there knows you and you don't know anyone.

For me, I hardly see 'big' as a way to insult someone and I couldn't care less if you were overweight or not, I don't know you and its not my concern. As you said its pretty pathetic, plus, I had no reason to be salty at the time, and haven't done anything like that after my ban either.

In my name 'big Ian', big isn't even used in that context, and was used as a joke to do with Ian Beale. I've joined this server and others with stupid names like that with different characters. I typed the name thinking nothing of it and joined the server. I wasn't messaged, asked, and didn't even know why I was banned. I was in a separate channel in TS with 1 person, someone from the gang even joined the channel asking if any of us were 'big ian' and to change it, but I thought nothing of it because I didn't know.

You keep telling me to be more truthful but there is nothing more to it, I don't know why you can't accept the fact that it was a genuine mistake and I had no idea, and don't spend my time passively insulting owners of servers. I've been telling the truth and that’s all I can say , I spent 14 months here with nothing previous on my name, why would I throw that away for no reason in a petty way?

Again, as it was taken the wrong way, I apologise for whatever grief it caused, but I can't tell you much more than I didn't use the name in reference to anyone but an Eastenders character. I wouldn't throw away my place here intentionally just for that.
Hope can come to terms.

It didn't cause any grief, I am trying to keep this community clean and if someone is childish enough to try to insult me god knows what they're going to do to our members.

I will give you another chance but be a little more responsible with your names, this is a serious roleplay server so be a little more serious!

You can open an appeal and advise why you have been on a Poseidon training server, and who has been giving you and others the password even after it was changed.
