In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
The reason I was banned was due to the rule 1.6 “The Staff Team may ban any member from the servers and community at any time if they are considered disruptive to the community or we have a valid reason to believe they are here to cause issues.” Now I have been able to put a lot of thought into this and have been able to break down this reason into my own words so I could get a full understanding of why I was banned, therefore I was banned because a staff member believed I was on the server to cause disruption or was going to cause issues. This is why I was banned for my name in-game being “Big Man Ian”. This name was related to a toxic clan who represented the community in a bad way; below details more about this and should hopefully give you a better understanding.
What have you been upto in the last 6 months+ ?
It has not been 6 months since my ban however over the last week since my ban I have thought a lot about the reason for my ban, and how I would like to appeal it and get across my side.
Why do you want to return ?
Before my ban, I had recently started playing the server again after taking a short break due to exams. Before leaving I had been active on the server, and had developed good friendships with people on and enjoyed spending much of my time playing on the server. I would like to return so I can continue playing with my friends and enjoy the experiences this server offers that others are unable to.
Why should we unban you ?
When I was banned in-game, immediately I attempted to go to Join For Support on TS however I was understandably banned when I joined. On my previous ban appeal the reply given to me by Wilco was “lol go and play silly games somewhere else”, I was shocked at the time I was unsure why I had been banned and could not understand the reasoning behind this especially when I had yet to have anybody explain the reason for my ban to me. Although at the time I did not understand the reason, I now understand why I was banned and hopefully can exonerate myself from wrongdoing. I immediately contacted some of my old friends from the community to ask if they understood why I was banned. To which I was informed that the name “Big Man Ian” was actually used by a clan on the server which was trolling out of spite. I can openly and honestly say that I have had nothing to do with this clan/gang and have never had anything to do with them to the best of my knowledge. I have never played with them and have never had any contact with them. I completely understand and accept why I was banned, however, my use of this name was never malicious and I did not want to cause issues for the server, and on the evening I was banned, I did not do anything that would cause harm to the server and its players and was just trying to play a game with my friends and had no idea that the name I was using had such negative ties. I would also like to add that the gang I am currently in “Slithery Little Snakes”, this is a gang that I have been in for a while and the name has never come into question in the past, the gang has been around for years and I wanted to ensure you this has had nothing to do with the name I had.
Over the past week, I have taken some time to calm down and recollect my actions building up to my ban, to hopefully explain myself better in this ban appeal as my last one felt rushed as at the time I was in disbelief and shock. I would like to apologise for any wrongdoing at the time, the name I used for my username was something I had honestly thought of the name on the day as it was an inside joke between me and some friends the likelihood of this being the exact name a group trolled with was completely coincidental. Although that can sound not believable I won't further this point and can only hope with the +1000 hours I have spent on this server and the dedication to the different departments can reinforce that I am not a malicious person and only hope to be given another chance. I have been banned before, but since my first ban, I have spent a long time on the community and making sure that the way I play and the people I associate with are always those that follow the rules, enjoy roleplay and are not there to be disruptive. Before taking a break from the server, I dedicated a lot of time towards the Altis Police, reaching the rank of Chief Inspector as well as joining other specialist units such as MPU.
Furthermore, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and after my previous appeal was denied I have had a thorough read of the rules to further understand them. If you have any further questions for me I am happy to answer anything in detail to absolve myself.
