Brief Summary:
The new and improved shop UI has just been implemented, considering it has recently been worked on it's probably a good time to suggest additions/changes to the system while it's still in focus.
As a long-time shop owner and even longer shop worker. I find it's always a little long winded to calculate and remember how much of a specific item is in the shop-front and storage when creating a restock order. Often after several orders I will have amassed a slew of useless notes across my desk with redundant information about how many x, y, and z items I currently have across my shop-front and storage combined.
A nice QoL addition would be the ability to see the total quantity of a given item across the shop-front and storage as you go to order it.
Detailed Suggestion:
Currently the shop UI when ordering an item only allows for 1 item to be modified at a time before committing it to the order (adding to basket) this gives a good opportunity to have a breakdown of the selected item somewhere on the UI when selected from the drop-down menu.

By moving the Delivery Driver Tip & Fee information to an order confirmation screen that appears before submitting the order, we have more space for additional information. The whole Summary Section can then move down and allow for an Item Details section that could display how much of that item the shop currently has in it's shop-front, storage, and the combined amount.

Note: This is just one way this could be implemented and by no means the only way, this method also allows space for additional item information in future, should that ever be needed.
The Pros:
- A better user experience for shop workers.
- Recently worked on so code likely still relatively fresh in the developer's (Duke's) memory.
- Fewer redundant notes slew across desks.
- Room for future improvements.
The Cons:
- Some developer work.
- Removes a task that benefits from having an additional person helping.
Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?
I don't think this would directly impact the balance on the server.
A long stretch might be that shop restocks will take up less time meaning people will be able to use that extra time to do other things. Shops might be able to order a little faster meaning they could possibly earn a few extra £100-£1000 a month by fitting in more restocks.
In all seriousness though, this would not impact/change the balance on the server.

Having someone calling out stock levels as you create an order is not a particularly enjoyable task for either person and feels like an unnecessary bottle-neck, this is rarely the way it gets done, instead opting to perform the task solo when others are not around as its known to be uninteresting and time consuming.
Getting people to help you move items into the shop front from storage is a more fulfilling cooperative task as it is more active, has more moving parts, and has a more appealing real-world link to restocking shelves compared to completing a stock check which would usually be done using automated inventory management systems in the real world.
