Hey,

       I've been playing Altis life for a week or so with some close friends. we had all been to get a helicopter and some guns and things, returning to Kavala for some water and rabbit legs. With the plan of setting off on a mining expedition. Me and Shirley hid our weapons in our back packs and dashed from shadow to shadow in the hopes avoiding the interest of the many psychopaths who roam the streets of Kavala, day and night. 

When Bang out of the night strikes .. not a bullet but a Message " You were kicked off game [battlEye: admin Ban (RDM Hospital Kavala) ... and just like that my night was ruined, just as my dreams where within my grasp 

I assure whoever has the power to lift my ban that i am a peaceful and productive citizen of Altis and make an honest living.

Baring the one time i tried to kill that foul mouthed child while in police custody. but i paid my fine and i moved on 

i've been using the name Daniel, for that is my name

please Lift this ban as i was not even involved with a gunfire incident, let alone a random death match

and feel this ban has been woefully miss used 

 
Never heard of anyone being banned for RDM without killing anyone... Strange indeed and hope admins will be able to resolve this but be patient they got tons of shit to do and they are a bit undermanned.

 
Sorry pal, but that's a sack of crap. You were involved in an unapproved rebel engagement at the Kavala hospital, along with Ben and Steve - who were also banned that night. You also shot me whilst I was attempting to deal with the situation with Simon (the so-called leader of that group of rebels).

If that's the best you can do - lie in my face - then the ban stays.

I understand that you have a lot of work cut out for you, and that each one of these un ban request have been personally replied by yourself. I ‘m sure it is a monumental task and with such endeavours mistakes can and do and more importantly have happened.

I paid thirty quid only last week to play purely Altis life with 3 of my friends, not only have I lost this investment, my time an effort was also invested as I had just purchased a helicopter license. I have also been called a liar publicly by someone who admits they were preoccupied at the time of the alleged incident. IF you were mid arrest how did you come to positively ID me as the distant shooter.

Bearing in mind I have also seen multiple Daniels on this server while being online. Or is name cloning a possibility?

You have accused me of being in the company of individuals I’ve never even heard off. I was however in my own group using a vent server this was comprised of myself, Shirley previously mentioned, Wook and Shen.If need be we can recount a step by step account of our nights activities.We always play games in a group of four and we felt comfortable and happy on this server and where becoming increasingly invested. It would be a real shame if we had to find another server.

I really must insist that this case be looked at again and I be treated a little more fairly; I have 3 fellow regular players who can attest to my movements and actions throughout the night of the 6th   If I had committed this act then I would be taking a much more humble approach and be very apologetic and grovelling. But in this case I flat out deny any wrong doing. And when and if this post is replied to I’d appreciate the evolvement of manners and a little evidence from your party, as I am providing 3 witnesses.

I am a friend of Daniels we have played games together for many years. We recently started playing AltisLife and out of the large choice of servers we feel we have found our home on yours. Therefore I am sure Daniel would never intentionally do anything to jeopardise our ability too play on your server as a group. We stick together so I would surely recall him doing anything like this as I would have been involved. I was with Daniel the moment he was banned we we're heading into kavala covertly to pick up some cash while our two other friends waited on the outskirts in a chopper. I hope this helps 

 
OK. I will accept that there is a possibility of there being two Daniels on the server at the same time, but I'm stretching a point here. My RCON system puts all current players in an alphabetically-sorted list, and any second or third Daniels on the server will have been in-game as 'Daniel (2)' or 'Daniel (3)'. The game does enforce unique names, during the sessions (though obviously people's profile names remain the same at their end - we just see them as various flavours of 'Daniel' depending on how many are on at once.

That said, the incident as I recall it was - I was on the roof of Kavala hospital, ADMINNING (rather than arresting in-character) with some people who had broken a server rule, and were facing bans. Foolishly, some of their group (and a few other silly civs) thought it was a good idea to continue griefing, and I (and some other people in the vicinity) continued to be shot and killed. I was at one point (probably the second since I'd arrived on the roof) shot at presumably long-range by someone whose name was Daniel (no numbers) without RP (not that it really mattered, because as I said, I was in 'admin mode' and the cops were themselves attempting to clear the area of all civs and bystanders. The systemchat log clearly defines the killer in text, so there was definitely no mistake about the name, I assure you. During the respawn blackout, I spun round to my laptop, found the only Daniel showing on the server via RCON, and banned him, in accordance with the no-RP, RDM ban rules. I added the note about RDM Hospital Kavala myself.

Now, it is remotely possible that I was the victim of an extremely poorly-timed, bad-luck, long-distance crossfire shot, or some random bullet that you let loose from your rifle. I'm reasonable enough to concede that much. But the fact that you were the only 'Daniel' (not Daniel(2) or whatever) on the server, and my kill-log showed that name, and the ban affected YOUR account GUID/IP, not anyone else's, makes it a fairly clear-cut case of it being your bullet, not anyone else's.

So, in the interests of fair play, I would like to hear the testimony of the other three witnesses, specifically in terms of where their positions were on the server at the time immediately preceding your initial kick/ban, where you were in relation to the hospital, and whether there was any kind of firefight, rounds being let off, etc ,that might've contributed to this occurrence. Bear in mind, I'm not looking for character-references or vouches of confidence in you as a person (I'm sure you're a nice guy who sends flowers to his mum on Mothers Day and all that)... what I really what to know more of a 'who was standing where, on the grassy knoll' kind of forensic explanation of your encounter. So I can decide whether this was just a random bullet at the worst possible moment.

There is one small niggle in the back of my mind... and it was triggered by something you said about 'killing that foul-mouthed child'... Would you mind elaborating on that incident too, please?

There is the tiniest possibility that you were NOT the shooter of me on the hospital roof (who was definitely a Daniel), but you *may* have been another Daniel who was reported in by one of our policemen (Ravenoth springs to mind, but I may have misremembered that - it might've been Robert) who called in an RDM report in the hospital area much earlier in the evening. I have a vague feeling that might've been a Daniel too (and I wasn't able to issue the ban for some time, due to other pressures, so we may be talking across purposes about two entirely separate incidents in the same area, several hours apart, both featuring a different Daniel). Tell me more about this earlier killing incident...maybe the jigsaw will match up. Where was it, for a start, please?

Right, I’m not very tech savvy which is about to become very apparent; I’ll try and help you as much as I can. First of I would like to guarantee that I didn’t fire that shot, and I’m worried I may appear to come off worse but I’m going to stand by it

 Your reference to the grassy knoll' kind of forensic explanation bit did make me smile a little. In all honesty I could have fired that shot four days ago and it hit you again next year on this server. 5-10% of my time in altis I spend it one step out of time and lagging around in my own private world. I’ve seen police cars judder across the street then launch into the air and spin round the city, so don’t worry too much about nailing the trajectory.

Last thing I recall I was running along just behind Shirley just reaching the cash point, the one near the police station. When I got the Ban message, apparently my lifeless corpse flew into the cash machine and slipped underground, which must have saved everyone a lot of fuss. And I’m really sticking to that story.

I mean could I suggest maybe some sort of third party program/ player whatever masquerading as random true players to troll? I’m sure all your stuff it isn't infallible, as physics here sure as hell isn't. And this game does have that ripe for trolling smell

Or could I have been Daniel 2 when Daniel got in trouble and logged off? And i become the ultimate true Daniel and took responsibility for all?

Also in theory, if the ban where lifted and I could return, would not my gun and bullets play into my favour as I for one didn’t have a rifle. I had some automatic little SMG type thing, With 30 bullets loaded and no spare ammo. I know that count! as ten minutes earlier we had had a whole thing of me missing some ammo that had been placed on the floor. So I had none, save the loaded shots. Which I do believe is unfired and should right now be stacked at 30. And just on top of that I’m not 100% sure how to zoom, I think you have to be in first person but don’t quote me on that.

As I carry Guns for protection I’m not very practised. In the event where I have fired, it’s either a moment of intense lag where I fire to the left or right of my target, or I panic and miss completely anyhow.

This nicely leads me on to the “foul mouth child” who I won’t name as I don’t want that nut job on my case as well as being banned.  Anyhow this child hit me round the head and took a load of money and my gun and said he’d rape everyone I’d ever seen type things.. charming..

Having located him again in the future I pulled my hand gun out and shot at him while he was in police custody, at funnily enough the hospital. All six or so shot I fired missed. He lived and I was placed in the car with him and taken to the police station where I was verbally abused all the way until we stopped, and I was fined. And set free, this did happen well before the thing you’re banning me for. I mean hell it could be one of those bullets lodged in a steel girder, building up momentum for all I know.

And after that do you really want to imply that it was me running, weapon less, full tilt manages to fire a rile bullet from the wrong gun that I don’t even have in my hands, with no scope, across half of town.  And hit you atop a building?  I’m almost flattered

But from what you've described this particular Daniel sure does get around considering, considering I spent the whole night out in the wild with three other people.

Regardless there is no peace in kavala to protect. I’m not surprised there is a general feel of unrest among the populous, one of my first day I moved in to Kavala I was tazed by a police officer for asking to speak to a community relations officer.  

So I mean even if you don’t believe me, I feel it’s highly heavy handed punishment , from someone hanging about on a tall building while shots fly through the air in a lawless city.  OMGfashion was burnt to the ground the other day. And you expect us to wonder around and not feel twitchy? Frankly I’d have been tempted to shoot you myself if I’d have seen you,  least then I’d have felt involved

I’m sorry but I’m still sticking to my guns pardon the pun, I feel either a mistake has been made or we have both been duped. All that has been served is the loss of good Rp players.  I’d put a lot of effort in, I had a massive truck, Salt and copper licenses. And was close to getting myself a helicopter.

I was with Daniel upon this glorious night, and jokes aside this is silly. All I remember is being sat in Wooks chopper waiting for Daniel and Shirley and literally a few moments later the ban message appeared. We were all on ventrillo at the time and utterly stunned, my first piece of advice to Daniel was the forums, to explain that this is some sort of misunderstanding.

I have played many a game with Daniel and the last thing he is, is a griefer or troll, and if im honest, is the opposite, somebody who will get involved and RP with the best of em, get to know people and be a regular member of this server as we all want to be.

Im one of the mentioned players who plays Altis with Danny, we always have had and will continue to play games as a group, we are generally a quite group and respect the game for what it is Our Crimes range from excessive honking and Escorting strangers in Doo Rags Playing music too loudly .

The night in question Daniel, myself, Shen and Shirls where on the quest for a helicopter! A Big one! This task took us the majority of the night as the 1st attempt I ended up being killed at the vendor. (Di Dave impounded my van at the airport afterwards).After many attempts, many tears and directions over vent to the cashpoint in the pitch black: I Got the hele with the help of the for mentioned players.

After booting about and a few deaths on the repelling ropes we decided to crack on with what we have been doing since we logged on Altis life. Getting’ on that Copper Run, Son! We flew over to Kavala, and I know all cities are no fly zones, so I landed outside the town (Around where the Delivery missions point is on the map) and asked Shirley to pick me up a pick axe (As I had previously died a few times at the Airport), some rabbit meats and a water.

Danny and Shirls headed off in the direction of the garages, their only wrongdoing: looming in dark alleys like odduns.

As I was questioning if I should stay and wait where I was or move to the Coppermine for the rendezvous that’s when The notice that Daniel had been banned. Not gunna lie I laughed and nearly choked on whatever I was smashing into my mouth at the time, but knew it couldn’t of been right.

The 2 who headed off into town spend more time dodging players pillaging their backpacks and stealing their own guns than the type to be in a shootout. I don’t know how the mix up may of happened but there’s not a cat in hells chance Dannys succeeded to hit a long range shot on anyone but himself.

 
Hmm... I'm slowly reaching the conclusion that we have had two incidents, two Daniels, and two different times mixed up. I *think* perhaps the ban YOU have, Daniel, was a late-enforced ban for the killing of the foul-mouthed lunatic you travelled in the cop-car with from the hospital. I probably hit the button quite a long time after a report from the cop (who evidently didn't hear, or didn't become involved in the discussions between you and the 'child'). It's highly likely that this ban would've been some minutes later than the actual event - hence you were on your way back to the ATM by then, etc.

Now, as it happens, there was the big incident with the 'rebels' (so called) on the hospital roof, considerably later that evening, and I was shot by a Daniel who was part of a group involving some other names that simply do not tally with the names you're mentioning as being your gang. It definitely *was* a Daniel, and he definitely *was* banned - but I don't actually think that was you (you were probably gone from the server by that time, as a result of the earlier ban!) *That* Daniel hasn't shown his face (and I don't think he ever will tbh. As you can no doubt tell by the ferocity of my initial statement to you (the wrong Daniel), his crimes were pretty cut-and-dried, and I had HIM bang to rights.

I love all your techicals, btw. Made me laugh. Bless. But no - I think it's actually a lot simpler than that. Now I'm going to mess with your non-technical head a bit further, and ask you to PM me your BATTLEYE GUID number (note, not your Arma3 playerid which starts with 7), and the IP address you were on or are on now, if possible. I'll then arrange to have you removed from the banlist file - with my apologies.

Thank you for replying I've tried to inbox you but your pigeon hole is stuffed it seems so it didn't go through. i'm still not 100% which Daniel either of us are talking about anymore, but i'm happy things are progressing. your apology is more then accepted and i'd like to extend my own as i was a little snide. I'd got myself in a righteous indignation rage.

It usally shows when you join a server, but i found this in the forum, it might help:

join another server (any arma 3 server) and type in #beclient guid

I hope I'm not the Ben you was talking about i don't know enough people to be in a rebel group?
