Brief Summary:

I would like to suggest limiting the use of helicopters if not almost getting rid of them completely unless someone can buy it at a high price.

Detailed Suggestion:

I can only speak from the perspective of the police as this is really the only charecter I play but i feel like the use of helicopters, primarily how they are being used is becoming more of an issue on the server. It seems that all anyone has to do is just drive to the tactical headquaters and steal a helicopter then they are nearing on to a naval pilot level. For example yesterday seeing a helicopter fly into and land in a 20ft x 20ft courtyard to break someone out of the prison not only is it unrealistic because i doubt anyone that just steals a helicopter can conduct manouvers at that level but its also annoying for police knowing there is nothing they can do. Furthermore, When we arrive at fuel station robbery to see a helicopter landed on the side of the road most of the time the people robbing the store  run out with no RP hop in the heli and fly off knowing the police cant really do anything about it. In reality helicopter lessons are costly and i believe in some way the server should reflect that. I believe the server is slowly going towards using more helicopters and it is becoming more disheartening for the police as most of the time we cannot do anything about it. Im not saying get rid of them all together just make it impossible to steal them and if you want to buy one it comes at a high cost (to replicate flying lessons).

The Pros:

More interesting RP situations instead of just flying off. (Police chases, Indepth prison escapes)

Would make prison breaks actually have risk with them as at the minute someone just flys into the prison and 90% gets away without even being seen.

More realistic, I doubt anyone with 5k in their bank could fly a helicopter.

The Cons:

Prison Breaks would require a lot more planning than stealing a heli

Helicopters would be inaccessible to the majority of players

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?

Yes, It would mean that people that want to use helicopters for criminal actions would have to think of other ways to do it, this would likely increase the risk of getting caught.

I dunno- I think the use of helicopters isn’t extreme, I just think the only use for them is limited, so you only really see them when they’re used to do something like break someone out of prison,

In order for someone to break someone else out of Prison, it requires a couple of steps (as far as I’m aware?) surely in your clip you’d already have known a prison break is fairly likely. Could a Prison lockdown not have prevented that escape, a call to NPAS to get airborne and follow this helicopter until it’s forced to land and refuel?

Without sounding like a helmet head, I feel like the only reason this is a problem, is because it’s harder for Police to win?

@Thomass im seeing them become more frequent now and we had about 20 seconds after the tower went down for this no where near enough time for NPAS and the issue is most of the time police arent there in this case i was caught up escorting weazel news about so i couldnt leave them to enforce a lockdown even if i did have time. To be honest this suggestion is more about how unrealistic the use of helicopters are that was just an example. I can only refer to the police as that is all i really play, along with NHS

I Feel like this is better it's the prison that needs changing really and not the helicopters

How about adding a net over the top of the prison compound? To stop helicopters being able to land? It’s needs balance as there has to be a way of being able to escape prison also.

the police/criminal win/loss balance needs adjusting the island favours the police more I have to say.

for example real world armed response after a shooting get suspended pending full investigation, they do not shoot at cars to disable tyres nor do they shoot criminals in the back, the rules of engagement won’t allow that, in my experience armed response are far to quick to shoot without consequence, this isn’t me having a dig I’m merely saying that the balance has to be looked at.

taking down a tower should be notified to police which it does, but then if a bank is robbed it shouldn’t notify them of that with a tower being down.

it would be then upto the police to send a patrol to the area where the tower is down for example.

also when configuring a device at a bank it shouldn’t notify police until the alarm is set off

What would solve this issue imo would be to disable the spawning of local helis which forces the individual to seek help from a gang/person who physically owns a chopper.

Adds a barrier of entry for less connected folk and gives them a reason to RP to obtain a chopper and pilot.

They are OP as hell, aren't they. Who is gonna shoot you down for example? You can go whereever you want in no time, too! I say helicopters need to go, in that they shouldn't randomly spawn anymore. Give access to the cops & NHS, and maybe weasel news if they can behave for once 😄.

Agree that people should not be able to steal them. But for civ that spend Million on heli are allowed. If police and Gruppe6 will stop open the doors to the yard when they are not in prison will help and make it harder but we are aware of it and will come up some harder way to get prisoner out

I feel like the helicopters are not the problem. It's more of people breaking out easily because of the method!
