Report a player

Your In-game Name: HHW

Name of the player(s) you are reporting: Bowen Orion

Which server did the incident take place on: Forum

Date of the incident: 03/21/21

Time of the incident (GMT): 1

What best describes this incident ?: Abuse of power

Please (in detail) describe the incident: The staff member stated that he had evidence, yet did not share it and denied the appeal. This is not the first instance of his abuse of power, reading through his other posts, his strategy is to claim he has evidence, then demand the player confesses in order to play. This is blackmail, unfalsifiable and a dogmatic approach, as it means that if the player confesses (regardless of whether they are guilty) they are concluded guilty, if they do not, the ban is not considered because Bowen simply accuses them of lying. Nowhere in the rules does it state that a staff member does not need to provide evidence, yet he claims this, thus this is bigotry. His only defense is that the appeal system is "not a court", and yet this site boasts fair and just rules so should they not let the banned player defend himself? In fact, the report a player rules say that accused get to defend themselves under "Requirements / The Report Itself", hence by being dogmatic in the appeal, Bowen has directly breached this and subsequently abused his power.

Well, it was bound to happen at some point. Five years I've been here without a single report! But that has to end one day. Anyways, as per protocol, this report will be dealt with by a staff lead. All the best.

Hello, i'm Staff Lead Stavik.

I would like to just address your points you have made so bare with me.

The staff member stated that he had evidence, yet did not share it and denied the appeal.
We do have evidence of that specific case, but some evidence we have can be of sensitive nature. We do not have to share this evidence as stated earlier, it could be of sensitive nature. Multiple members of staff, Leads and the Management team have seen it and we do not see any issues with it.

This is not the first instance of his abuse of power, reading through his other posts, his strategy is to claim he has evidence, then demand the player confesses in order to play.
This is not abuse of power, this is a member of staff at the level where his skill and experience is able to determine if this player will a) being a contributing member of the community or b) a trouble maker that we then probably don't want on our game servers. How this is dealt with is experience we have gathered over the 7 years we have been a community for role-players.

This is blackmail, unfalsifiable and a dogmatic approach, as it means that if the player confesses (regardless of whether they are guilty) they are concluded guilty, if they do not, the ban is not considered because Bowen simply accuses them of lying.
Quite simply this is not blackmail, unfalsifiable or even dogmatic.  This is how we find out if a player is going to be someone for us that we want to have around. Players lying in appeals or issues is very common for us. It's nothing new. This is why we also deal with things in our way.

Nowhere in the rules does it state that a staff member does not need to provide evidence, yet he claims this, thus this is bigotry
We do have quite an extensive system for warnings/ban notes to be placed and if a situation is of a serious nature it will be recorded.
Because of the sensitive nature some of these could contain, we do not share these openly.

Our Fair Ban System is very fair and so are our members of staff.
Bowen have done exactly what is required and expected as a member of staff and the decision made is final.

Report Declined.
