Lets be honest the crim life is dying on RPUK and the server has more police in it than crims leading to loads of units for the littlest crimes.

I think there should be a cap on how many police can log on the server and that should be decided by Staff/higher up from police to ensure that is a bit more balanced because getting a response of 30 police for a pay out of 30 wads is too much.

Pros: Gives the server a bit of a balance and possibly bring back the crim life
Pros: Crims will be motivated to do more crime which gives the police something to do

Cons: Queues for waiting to log on your police character
Cons: Dev work

In response to the screenshot given as an example. A senior spoke up and took ALOT of unit away from that situation in light of balance. Its not in police interest to have stupid numbers.

I agree that there's a problem, but I don't agree with your proposed solution.

I know we can't force anyone into any type of RP but there are a lot of "police mains" or people that ONLY have their police character. Ideally I'd love for them to also experience the other side so they can notice that the police does some shitty things sometimes as well. Problem is, I can't think of any way/rule/form to make it balanced.

I remember this situation also and can vouch for this. Many units were sent away for this

Unfortunatly your suggestion does not take into account the people who are only interested in playing as Police. Do you think people will just go "Oh, I can't play as Police; I'll give crim a go tonight"? Unfortunatly though this may be the case for some people, other people will just not play that night and simply play other games or worst case scenario, they'll look for other roleplay servers and simply leave meaning the server population will start to suffer.

Unfortunatly what I see happening which I've have seen in this community once already with Arma: yes crims are getting bored, but taking people away from what they want to do is NEVER the answer. The true answer is always content creation that gets people excited for new prospects, unfortunatly these things don't come easy, our devs work for free and so we get what we get when we get it and we are grateful for all the work they do, they don't get enough credit for what they do.

There's tons of ideas for crims to be revitalised but truth be told, taking players away from their "main" is not the answer and will only serve to further damage the population. The loop you've suggested would see Police numbers go down a lot and you must also take into Police "skillsets" not every police officer you see is the same.

Fropm RPU, to firearms, to Response and CID the main skillsets of those are very different, to have all of one or two online at a night would be extremely detrimental.

Personally I say Bring back Poseidon!

as allways police are REACTIVE to the crime and threat

if people who play crim werent so aggresive to small things then the police also de-esculate themselves
shoot a cop for stopping you for running a red then they will become more catious and forcefull, im not saying its all on the criminals but alot of the time it comes across as "im an untouchable gangsta"
like why do you need a fully auto combat assualt rifle to go and rob a corner shop, it probably seems like im saying its all on the crims and im not i have seen some of the things police do hah, but yea if they werent allways responded to with deadly force for every single situation the police would be less likely to turn up en mass armed to the teeth

anyone who has been around a few years will know armes police were really rare a few years ago

also on a side note you would also need to make the balance across criminals also with levels like 2 20man gangs in a shootout vs capped police would also need capping to make it fair, as police are technicaly meant to be the ones who come out on top in most situations as they are the police, yes i know its a game and a RP server but in reality when theres a shootout and the police appear the gangs scramble to escape not keep shooting and say why you ruining our fun

side note G6 is the same as reactive, we never used to have guns untill every situation for us was met with the response of a gun

I agree crim life needs massive help. I dont think limiting police numbers solves it personally.
100%, the mentality is so tunnel visioned atm across the board. Too many people are just think nurfing the police will make the server better where really it wont make much diffrence at it doesnt effect the route cause of the issue.

Personally I say Bring back Poseidon!
Completed it mate.

I agree, the crim scene is very much dead at the moment. The amount of crims on the server is rapidly decreasing however i do not believe this to be the best solution.

Maybe there could be a different way to counter this problem?

I’ve brought this up in today’s police meeting as a direct result of feedback from group leads. It’s something we’re actively working on being better at and using the different units more wisely. It’s not an overnight change, so with with us and it’s a two way street but progress is being made ✌️

I think the main issue is too many officers wont let a scenario play out and go for cuffs or taser. If police let it play out and take an L and let the criminal win from time to time, many issues could be mitigated or resolved. Crim life does need more though. The only way police will ever know how they impact crims when they take their stuff, is if they get charged for all the equipment they take out

For sure!

If officers are utilizing their taser too quickly this is a matter for the unit that has oversight of taser. Make a complaint ingame and it'll get dealt with I assure you (my unit)

I don't think its nerfing but more of a balance, Crims always are for nerfing themselves when it comes to Markys, Smgs, Shotguns but why feds can never see a little change to see what it does.

Today there was a combined 58 feds/G6 in a 200 pop server, Something needs to change or its going to be feds cuffing other feds soon.
