SAW Ride Closed - Thorpe Park

Tis a sad day. Been on this a few times and now its closed due to the accident on the smiler at alton towers.

Any of you guys ever been on it? Don't know why I liked it so much, I guess its because I love the films and the ride features a lot of things from it.

It's pretty scary what happened in Alton towers. Considering I have been on The Smiler not long ago. 

 
To be honest I have no idea how it happened. How the hell do you send a carridge of 16 people onto a track when there is a test cart still out.

Also they had had reports of the ride not working properly all day, and they did nothing about it.

I didnt go on saw the ride, but saw the maze was scary, i have a funny story from it ;P

They closed the maze too! Not today, but apparently it was loosing popularity to it only opens for special events now.

Something tells me they will re-open it now that the main saw ride is closed.

 
I loved the saw ride. Been on it loads, going to thorpe park very soon so that will suck knowing it wont be up.

 
Never like alton towers, takes too long for one ride...

@Georgie I highly doubt the smiler will be open by then, if ever.

As far as i understand SAW will re open when they find the reason for the fault on the smiler as they are "Very Similar Rides" made by the same company.

Yeah, I doubt it aswell. Fortunately for me I wasn't planning on going on the smiler... FAR Too many loops for my liking haha!

 
It doesn't put me off rides at theme parks but it does worry me. I saw a video of a ride that flew off the track due to speed. What if the magnet on stealth just stopped one day x(

 
Just imagine a 50mph crash into metal, legs first. Then being pinned against it for 20mins. Its enough to make you sick.

In the video i posted you cant even work out where one cart ends and another starts. The guy in the blue shirt is at the front of the one, there is litterally no space between them at all.

Crazy stuff.
