Soups Nerf

This is a class suggestion as they have put soo much work into trying to get people to start roleplaying when buying food etc but now there’s another meta again that’s overpowered then it seems the exact same as the smoothies again.
I never see any Roleplay when people buy foods now as they just walk in buy it like it’s a vending machine and just walk away and don’t have to come back for another day because they have like 20 soups in there pockets which last forever.

Then you haven´t been to the right places, quite frankly. I have no issues roleplaying in my restaurant and getting people to buy other food... It does happen quite a lot actually, believe it or not^^

I think rather than looking at nerfing soups, prices need adjusting on other items that go into different foods. We have that issue with anything to do with fish dishes for example - it´s simply not worth making them, because nobody will buy them for a price that makes me my money back.

Right, all bias aside and speaking from a completely neutral standpoint.

As one of the members that was lucky enough to be given the chance to help with this update, obviously the idea of the update was to basically stop one food being used over and over again and to redirect the traffic from a specific place people would buy food from every time. Now in doing this people obviously now have their own foods and there is so much more to do with food now and hopefully a lot more roleplay going on nowadays? (sorry for my inactiveness).

Now when it comes to meta foods I always used to think of it as every place has their own food which were roughly going to be the same and the main foods people would buy being complex foods. I feel like at the time it was the start of the update so the idea was to keep an eye on who buys what and see what people lean more towards aswell as become more meta etc. personally I’ve always seen this as being a bit of a simple fix and see one of two options either e.g. make it so all the complex foods do the same or make it so that the meta changes with time?

Surely if the meta changes with time then there will be no set meta meaning people won’t just keep stocking up on a specific food over and over and thinking that there is one food they can always rely on cos there won’t be?

For me anyways this is the most knowledgable thing to do and the only thing to do to change a meta is get rid of the meta and have none or change is constantly keeping people thinking?

Just remember that with a meta item (no matter what the item is) there is competition and people will always kickoff if they don’t have the best. For me the best way to fix this issue is to have no best or change it. Simple.

I’m personally not that fussed what happens as I know that I enjoy the server for the RP side and would like to get back to that shortly.

I will however say that if you’re completely opposed to the idea of no meta or meta change consistently, then to me that shows where your priorities in RP are and that it’s more convenience over Roleplay!!

We will never be able to get rid of a meta - people will always go for what is most convenient on a day to day basis. If it´s not soups, it will be something else. I don´t think soup is the problem here, there are multiple other issues that just make it worse.


Other ingredients need looking at so it´s worth making the dishes. Soups take extremely long to make, especially in bulk but as I said, we sell a good amount of other food too. Much more so through personal interaction when we are open, than purchases from what we have in the shop front. I would love seeing 3-4 food places open at a time, but it´s mostly none or 1 or 2 here and there, usually the same places. A lot of people don´t bother to open up and roleplay, which brings customers elsewhere in the end.

I´ve also got some deals going with other places, we swap food items and I make sure it makes sense for our restaurant to sell those. There is no reason why deals can´t be made, but that involves roleplay at the end of the day... Lucky Plucker for example can attest to that - we rp and we both benefited from it.

If I was able to stock some soups in the front counter, I wouldn´t mind stepping back from the bulk sales a little, but the only way you can get soups is by having someone at hand, which you don´t always have, so people stock up on their favourite item.

I don´t often see other restaurants show as open on the app anymore, it´s a shame tbh.

Tbf it's just abit soul crushing to open the shop and sit there for 3 hours posting in tweedle and such and nobody turns up

Well, I get that but how come I don´t have that issue so much in Pop´s? Surely people find it much less convenient driving all the way up north, no?

But people don´t usually get soups when we´re up there roleplaying and opening up the restaurant... They get steaks and stuff

im also a cafe tho so i have a super limited amount of stuff to make, same as legion bean machine, cafes are part of phase 2, we almost didn't get tea until i asked and i had to request omelette and cobb to be added, so my limited items also makes it extra hard for me to compete against soups and everything i make needs 1-3 eggs pretty much so that alone makes most stuff i make more expensive than a soup, i do what i can but soups 100% need rebalencing or the places that sell them need to price them at whart they would be worth in how good they work so closer to 1500/2000 each

I mean... get the places that make soups together, let´s get something going in rp. There is loads of avenues you can take - be creative and myself and I´m sure other restaurant owners will be happy to work with you^^

The problem is not soups generally, it´s mentality and roleplay that play a lot into things^^

Keep it as is. a lot of things keep getting nerfed. cars. guns. wash cloths, ways that people can have gun fights., gang caps.. just leave my soup out of this. Thanks

All in all every restaurants specialty item should do the same. Burger + 1 ingredient / taco + 1/ Soup + 1 ingredient should equal the same food/drink increase/decrease etc..

It should not be an item by item case. What sales should rely on is what you do in roleplay to entice people into your shop not because bobbinz has set the value of your specialty food too high and how shops price things is something that is discussed between shop owners in rp

If soups do truly exceed every other item I'm sure bobbinz will equal it out like he has with every other food that cropped up to be meta since the update came out

how about making food expire. The better filling the food is the less time it lasts. This would stop mass orders of soup and stockpiling and look to stockpile different foods that last longer and short term buy soup. Soup people can still sell but they need to be more proactive with it. Other places can start getting more variety in orders

The part-vision was to make it so it wasn't just having 10 inventory slots filled with smoothies, it was to encourage the roleplay aspect of the foods instead of places just stocking endless amounts of smoothies and calling it a day and not worrying until smoothies ran low. (This is not the full reason.)

I agree that soup is quite overpowered as it is, incredibly filling of both stats where I think it shouldn't really fill thirst as much as it does, soup can be very salty and I think a cut back on how much thirst it gives would balance it out.

Feedback on food is something that is needed, even if it is convenient for the above I think people are straying away from what the server is about, people shouldn't be going completely a "soup" diet, makes no sense other than "It's meta!!!" if that's what you're here for then I find that to be the wrong reason.

I personally think it should be nerfed on how much thirst it fills. +1

I think that increasing the price of soups will do absolutely nothing because it does not change the fact that soups are so far clear of any other food, people would still pay the premium for the convenience of soups and does not tackle the problem of the imbalance of soups. look at banana smoothies for example, the market price on them was around 500 but people still bought in mass if they were priced double at 1000. money is so easy to come by on the server that it is not the issue unfortunately.

I agree with you mark, from what I'm seeing in game and on here is that people do not care about the food RP and its quite disappointing.
