If you're the only one on the server and it would in no way shape or form affect your/others in-game actions then I am 90% you can talk to your friends that aren't on the server.
If they are on the server it would be suggested that you don't talk to them, as NLR would apply if they are dead, as you have stated, as this may affect their in-game actions and dictate their actions.
