I was banned for making a leaving post and saying "Leaving until the framework happens so, bye forever...Kappa."

Why should we unban you ?
At first I didn't think this was going to be taken seriously but when I was told that others wouldn't find it amusing I asked a staff member to hide it.
It was just a harmless joke and I didn't mean anything by it. Large majority of the community make jokes about the framework
not being released including staff members so I didn't think I was going to annoy anyone. I thought I had just been banned on the forums
because I've been playing everyday all day since I made the post, managing to successfully pull off 2 RP bank Jobs, first one designed by myself.
The day I made the post I realised I shouldn't of made the post as I let my emotions get the better of me however, I was convinced to stick around by a friend, and since then I've made more money and had more fun than the previous 3 months.
I have all my friends that I play arma with on ALUK and I really think it would be irrational to be community banned over a sentence that was never
intended to be hurtful.

Only today 26/05/2016 at the 8pm restart when I tried to log on I was banned.

I Issued the ingame ban because number one wilco said you're no longer welcome here and number two: honestly if you're gonna make a joke like that it's a slap in the face to our development team, management team, staff team, and support team. People who dedicate free hours upon hours so you can enjoy your experience

All actions have consequences good or bad. You made a poor choice.

As I mentioned I did not initially understand the severity with which the post would be interpreted. Once I realized my mistake, Jamz hid the post for me. 

I have been an avid player on this server for just under a year, and have supported it on multiple occasions. I did not intend to cause offence and the post was created at a time when I was fed up with Arma, having been RDM'd multiple times. 

I was not intending to create drama nor to offend anyone. I have heard framework jokes to no end, from members and the people you mentioned, such as staff. So it would seem silly to me that my comment has been interpreted in that manner, despite my proactive action to have it removed. 

Is a community ban really the appropriate punishment for a player who made an ambiguous post during a moment of anger? I have never previously caused issues, nor do I intend to do so.

@woofyour forum ban has been lifted so you can respond yourself and explain your actions. The in-game ban will stay.

What exactly were you thinking? Joking is one thing but when you posted that in departures, it pretty much was a "Fuck You" to the entire community. We may do the "Coming Soon" joke, but even we would never do something which you did, especially behind closed doors saying that the framework is never coming.

Not only does it bog down the development team, but it bogs down all the management/staff/support as well, because we at least field a "OMG WHEN IS THE FRAMEWORK COMING" question a day, it comes to the point where it's just annoying.

Do you not understand that our current development team has been working on this for a long time in order to make it perfect. These are not people who are doing this full time. Wilco himself has 2 real full time jobs, Ciarian goes to school full time, Vaffla runs his own business. (All of these guys I am convinced never sleep) 

Even professional low level game designers on average can take 1 year to develop, publish, and release a major video gaming title depending on the complexity.

If anyone in the community took my post as a fuck you then I apologise. Everyone jokes about the framework.....It was not an attack on any of the staff or the development team when I made a joke about its release it was just something I added to make people laugh. I really feel like this has been blown out of proportion. I've put hundreds of hours into ALUK and I've been a regular supporter of the server. However I should of known...I have been here for long enough to know that anything can offend anyone so it's crucial I just keep to myself and stay off the forums entirely.

It's not a question of people being easily offended, it's more of a question of making a poor choice. You post in departures, and everyone assumes you're leaving or taking a break, but yet you still want to play here.

if you want to leave leave as wilco said. Banter is one thing if someone is leaving to say goodbye, but making a joke like that while still playing here is pretty much trolling.

What do you want me to say? I've already said I'm sorry and that I acted out of anger, hence me asking for the post to be removed. When I initially made the post I was going to take a break and play other games, but Capt C convinced me to stick around as I might not have time to play here in the future. I realised my mistake and had the post hidden by Jamz it was while the post was hidden that I was banned.

We do stupid things in anger, next time take your anger out on another game, or maybe a punching bag in the real world.

Unbanned only because I know you're a good roleplayer. Don't make the same mistake twice.
