Because you are helping someone does this mean you can disregard a basic server rule by breaking RP?

I do not think I am exempt from the rules - I was not aware at the time that I had to use the // direct chat to advise him when it was just the two of us communicating, I assumed this would not be a breach of the rules at the time.

Simple mistake. I understand you was helping someone new but breaking roleplay will give them the idea that it's also acceptable for him to break roleplay.
