Why do you think you were banned: I was originally banned for discrimination toward another player after making inappropriate comments. I accept that what I said crossed the line and understand why the ban was issued.
I’m not entirely sure why the ban was escalated to a 1.6 community ban, but I assume it was due to concerns raised during or after my previous appeal being denied. I understand that the escalation would have been made to protect the wider community, and I respect that decision even if I didn’t fully understand it at the time.
Why should we unban you: I’m appealing my community ban with full awareness of how serious a 1.6 ban is. I’m not here to challenge the staff decision or shift the blame. I accept responsibility for my actions and the comments I made, and I understand why the ban was applied and later extended.
I want to apologise again to anyone I offended with my comments. Regardless of what I intended at the time, I recognise now how my behaviour could make others uncomfortable and damage the atmosphere for the wider community. I understand that a 1.6 doesn’t only protect individuals, but protects the whole community, and I respect that.
After my last appeal was denied, I knew I needed to take proper time away rather than rush into another request. During this time I’ve made a conscious effort to improve myself, not just promise change but live it.
I’ve grounded myself more in real-life responsibilities through my business, and focused on healthier outlets, I’ve also been little active in another large whitelisted RP community where I’ve had no issues, including during heated situations. I stayed calm, handled communication respectfully, and helped newer players settle in. I believe this shows that I’m capable of behaving maturely, even under pressure.
This community has been a part of my life for over ten years. I’ve met people here, built RP stories here, and leaned on the community through difficult times. Being banned made me realise how much I valued being part of this place, not just the gameplay but the interaction, environment and history.
If given another chance, I don’t want to return to drama or negativity. I want to contribute positively. When the city opened I started as one of the first NHS and that was some of the most rewarding RP I experienced. If I returned, I’d like to start with another NHS character and focus on meaningful, supportive roleplay that benefits others, not just myself.
I know staff deal with a lot of situations like mine and I appreciate the work that goes into keeping the community safe and enjoyable. With it being close to Christmas, I’m hopeful this might be the right time to offer another opportunity not out of generosity alone, but because enough time has passed for genuine reflection and growth.
I know words aren’t enough. Consistent actions are the only real proof, and I’m ready to demonstrate that if I’m allowed back.
