Unban Appeal - BigBlackZelda - GTA RP

Server: GTA RP
Character Name: William Jenkins
Steam ID: 76561198420212961
Ban ID (just the numbers): 21350
Ban Reason: C2.3
Why do you think you were banned: After seeing the reason within the FiveM screen, I believe it to be me logging out of the server while downed.
Why should we unban you: At the time of me logging out, I had previously relogged twice because I was getting picked up by my in game brothers to get to the hospital and when they would take me out the car, my body would fall and then disappear from the map so they couldn't do the carry option. After relogging from when this happened at the hospital, I spawned back in at Legion Square and I thought this was a server/my pc issue as I had also had previous issues trying to use my eye which was laggy. I didn't even think about either needing to wait for help or just respawning. That was a mistake on my part. It's been a while since I played on the server and it was just slip of knowledge that I do know about. I didn't have anything on me worth risking a ban for by waiting another day to be picked up and this was just an honest mistake.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

You say you were suffering technical issues whilst in game. Have you tried to reach out to anybody for help? Staff, players, anything?

I was with 2 of my friends who were trying to take me to the hospital but everytime I was lifted out of the car, I would fall under the road and they couldn’t then give me a carry invite. When relogging it would respawn me back to my original death position. I didn’t even think to ask for help in the OOC.

To be honest I should have just respawned before I logged out because I literally had nothing on me worth keeping and none of this would have even happened

How do you think you should address this issue, should it happen again after an unban?

This’ll will be an in game communication via OOC and if that doesn’t help, I’d make contact via a ticket or teamspeak

So whats changed between then and now, that's made you realise this process?

I realised what I had done wrong instantly the next day when I went to log on and got the ban message. The rule just completely slipped my mind during the situation out of frustration I suppose and instead of fixing the situation I found myself in, I took myself out of it and got handed the consequences of a poor decision.

What do you think would be a fitting way to assure the staff team this wont happen again?

For now all I can offer is my word. But going forward instantly, I will contribute to the community offering the best roleplay I can offer and hopefully giving those I come across throughout the server a satisfactory experience. I do not wish to ruin the experience for anyone by breaking the rules set out by the server.

Just to add, I’ve also gone and read over all the rules again today to refresh myself with what is expected within the community and what isn’t acceptable.

@BigBlackZelda - Find me the rule you broke and quote it in here.
In your opinion, why do we have this rule?

C2.3 - Combat Logging - “Logging out at any point during RP or whilst incapacitated is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during any form of combat, while being chased by the police, arrested by the police, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. Punishment is a permanent ban. Staff can make an informed decision depending on if you’ve made an attempt to resolve the issue. We do suggest you attempt to rejoin the server and continue the roleplay (try messaging them via OOC means first for example; Discord - GTA-FiveM-Roleplay or a relevant faction ie police/NHS public chat alternatively you can open a FiveM Ticket to inform staff).”

The reason, in my opinion, for this rule, is to stop people benefiting later on after the roleplay situation has ended. By benefiting I mean keeping all items that you had on you that you were possibly going to lose due to the roleplay situation you were in. This could be you being kidnapped and dumped and then directing friends later on to find you and take you to the hospital. This rule leaves you with 2 options. 1: Wait to be found and revived by the NHS. Or 2: Respawn with a new life and lose your items.

It's abit silly to combat log for isnt it?

It’s ridiculous. My intention wasn’t to combat log to gain anything over anyone. It was a moment of frustration in which I didn’t seek help from admin for a possible glitch that was probably easily fixed and decided just to go offline breaking a pretty simple and well known rule
