Why do you think you were banned: The only thing i remember from that evening was, I was on a discord call with my friends and we were on the server they were on mute as they were talking in game but I wasn’t. I mentioned to them that I was going to Create a new character called Jimbo James (I have two characters in the RPUK called that) but i wanted to make the new one abit older looking as I didn’t know how to do it to the original one, after that I mentioned to them that I was going to city hall. When I walked out of the city hall I went Idle to get something to eat and when I came back they were in front of me with this guy called Big Mike. After that I still wasn’t on mute in the discord call but I was talking in game as I forgot to mute and deafen myself. Me and the group robbed a few places then the police showed up to the last robbery, they told me not to get into the boot of the car and my friend on discord unmuted himself and told me to get in the car and i did, after that we crashed and i was out of the car I ran and hid and thats when i went Idle again as i got a phone call from my mum asking me to pick her up from her work (by this time it was about 10:30pm-10:45pm she’s finishes at 11pm) so i went idle during that time and when i was about to leave the house i came back into my room and saw that an admin was in front of me, but I didn’t have the time to talk with the Admin. All in all I think the reason why I was banned is because of the metagaming and talking with friends in a discord call even though we were in the city.
Why should we unban you: I’ve only been playing FiveM for a couple of months but on servers that were semi serious or not serious at all this was the first time being on a serious server for example KNG and Envy they both were semi serious to not serious at all, my friends had found the server and said i should give it a shot but i didn’t know what to expect from a very serious server of roleplay, I take full responsibility of the ban as I was talking with others on a discord server and it won’t happen again.

If you read the rule and read the rules page you will see that G3.5 is not for meta gaming. I would advised reading this rule and then coming back to this appeal.

Also, have you meta gamed?

When I was looking through the rules its under and its under meta-gaming obviously G3.5 is character separation, I’m not very good when it comes to reading rules as it confuses me I’m better when someone explains it to me.

Anyways i’m getting off topic yes I was talking with my friends on discord whilst being in the city and i truly do apologise about it.

If i could honestly talk with someone over discord ie a staff member or the person that pulled me aside by the time of the event it would be greatly appreciated as i can fully explain.

Well Meta-gaming is obviously using another form of contact with other ie discord calls with friend and/or streaming in the city via twitch or another form of streaming platform.

G3.5 is character separation and thats where im unsure of as i’ve read the rule and its saying like that “character A is a cop that know theres a raid is about to go down on a gang but then character B (same player) is in the rival gang but doesnt know about the raid, character A may not use any assets from character B” thats the part im unsure about as when i came into the city it was a fresh character that i made and this group of people approached me and took me to do robberies with them.

I want to add also that this is my first time in a serious RP so im honestly not sure where i’ve gone wrong and hopefully get to chance to improve on this. 🙂

So, you are one player who is playing two characters with the same names and in the same group with the same friends. Can you see how that wouldn't make sense and would be conflicting? How easily that could effect yours and others roleplay?

ohhh right that makes alot of sense now. The reason why I wanted to make the other character with the same name is because in my head the name 'Jimbo James' comes across as an older guy in his mid 60's or something, i should've thought of that before i made the first character.

It could effect others because one was a younger looking guy and the other was older it would be confusing to other people as they would recognize the voice but not the character.

Thank you for explaining this more in depth to me as this will help me understand what 'character separation' means.

There are bits more to it but it is stuff you can learn over time.

As for the logging out, I do understand you logged out as there was things going on but if you are in a situation where you have to log out but there is something going on around you please use the OOC in game chat, make them aware through the public channels in discord or let staff now.

Now what can be taken from this going forward?

What I have learnt from this is, creating two characters with the same name is confusing to other players/people that are in the city and shouldn't be condoned in any means. If i need to leave the city for anything personal i need to use OOC in game chat to make anyone aware and message in the discord chat that im currently OOC and/or message staff. If im ever pulled by staff that i must always speak with them (the situation i was in i didnt mean to log off).

Meta gaming - You will be receiving a warning for this. Do not take this lightly, meta gaming has the potential to ruin a lot of peoples RP. Any roleplay information that you learn OOC it is to stay OOC. Your character is learn it separately in-game.

Your ban for character separation will sit on FBS so this will class as a 1 day ban on our end.

Advice

I highly advise you read the rules page to what this all means, it is a lot to take in but it will keep you our of the appeals section.
