Ban Reason: Racism (Discord) and RDM Exploiting (GTA RP)
Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for racist comments and for RDM/exploiting in-game. One of the main things I did was tase someone through a car windscreen, which I know now was completely unrealistic and just broke the whole RP. I get why that wasn’t okay and why it led to a ban — it ruined the experience for other people and went against what the community is meant to be about.
Why should we unban you:
I’ve read back over what I wrote in my last appeal, and yeah, I can completely see why I got the response I did. You were right to say what you said — my history shows I kept making the same mistakes, and that’s completely on me. I also understand why it’s hard to believe I’ve changed, because at the start I didn’t take it seriously enough. But that message you left actually stuck with me. It made me realise just how far I’d gone wrong and how much I’d taken everything for granted. It wasn’t the ban itself that hit me — it was seeing someone genuinely think I couldn’t change. That honestly made me stop and think about the way I was acting and the way I handled things. Since then I’ve been trying to change how I approach stuff, both in-game and outside of it. I’ve stopped blaming other people and started actually thinking before I do or say anything. I’ve learned the difference between getting annoyed in RP and taking it personally, and I get now why that caused so many problems before. I know you’ve got no reason to just believe me straight away, but if I ever did get another chance, I’d make sure what I do actually shows that I’ve changed. I’m not after an instant unban or anything like that — I just really want the chance to show I can be part of the community in the right way this time. Thanks for reading this, and even if nothing comes from it, I just wanted to show that I’ve genuinely listened, learned, and changed from what happened.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Hello @hsml1404 ,

After reading your appeal, I’m hopeful that you’ve changed for the better.

To help me understand your honesty, please answer the following as truthfully as possible:

Did you write this appeal on your own?
Did you use any AI assistance or tools to write this?

Hello @OneShot ,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me, I really appreciate it. Since I’m trying to be fully honest and upfront now, I want to say that yes, I did use AI assistance when writing my original appeal. I can understand why that would raise concerns, but I want to explain why, because it wasn’t done to try and get a quick fix.

I wrote the appeal myself first, then used AI to help refine the wording and make sure I got my point across clearly. Sometimes I struggle to put my thoughts into the right words, and I didn’t want that to get in the way of expressing what I genuinely feel and the changes I’m trying to make. I checked the rules first, and since there wasn’t anything saying it wasn’t allowed, I decided to use it as a tool — not to replace what I wrote, but to help me communicate better.

I understand how things I’ve done in the past don’t reflect well on me, and looking back at them honestly makes me embarrassed. I know I can’t change what happened in the past, but what I can do is change how I act in the future and make sure I actually live up to the lessons I’ve learned. That’s all I’m trying to do here, I want to be honest about where I messed up, show that I understand it now, and hopefully prove I can do better if I’m ever given that chance.

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to read this.

Hello @hsml1404 ,

I understand that some people use AI tools to help make their appeals clearer or more structured, but when that happens, it's obvious that the words aren't coming from you. Going forward, I ask that you please write your appeal yourself so we can better understand your thoughts.

Now in regards to the ban that brought you here:
Why do you believe we should allow you back into the community after the harm that may have been caused by your racial remarks toward other members?

Hello again @OneShot ,

Thank you for the chance to explain this. Going forward, I will put it in my own words completely - without AI assistance.

In regards to the harm I caused by my actions - I can understand completely that my words were highly innappropriate and extremely disrespectful. Racism isn’t just a ‘mistake’. It’s hurtful and I’m embarrassed that I even made those remarks. I understand that it is completely on me, without any denial or excuse.

I would like to acknowledge how my words have hurt people personally, and I would like to apologise directly to everyone and anyone who was made to feel targeted. It was completely out of line and it absolutely isn’t something I stand for. I would also like to acknowledge the lack of respect for the community, and how small minded I was when I chose to make those remarks. What I said definitely harmed the community environment. Saying this, I completely understand how serious it is to make other members of the community feel unwelcome.

Despite my lack of regard for others when I initially made those remarks, I feel as though I have come a long way since then. My mindset has changed. I have learnt to be in control of my emotions and thoughts, without letting them spill out of my mouth. As for the community side of things, I have done a lot of work with youth groups and work groups at my job. I am volunteering/training to be a water sport instructor. This has brought me to be a lot more open minded, and realise that not everyone is always going through something particularly easy. With this being said, overall, I have learnt to think before I speak - especially online, considering I don’t know the person on the other end of the screen.

I have had time to deeply reflect on my actions over the past year or so. I want to handle things better, and return for the right reasons. I will be a part of the community, the correct way. I will to commit to proper RP and respectful behaviour. I understand that these statements hold a heavy amount of trust, however I am not expecting that trust instantly. Of course, I am willing to earn it. I’m simply asking for the chance to prove I can be respectful and contribute positively to the community.

My commitment going forward, will be to show through my actions that I can respect the rules, the roleplay experience, and most importantly, every member of the community.

To close, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts on this, and even consider for me to be given another chance in this community. Many thanks.

Hello @hsml1404 ,
I appreciate your honesty and the effort you’ve shown to reflect and take responsibility for your actions. It’s clear you’ve put genuine thought into the impact of your behaviour and how to move forward.

Given that your ban occurred around two years ago and you appear to have learned from it since.

We're willing to welcome you back to RPUK under the following conditions:
  • Any server rule breaks within the next 6 months will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  • At any time we deem you not fit for the community, you may be removed without warning.

This is your opportunity to prove that your words match your actions. We hope you make the most of it and show that you can contribute positively to the community this time around.

We trust that you understand the seriousness of these conditions and are committed to upholding them.

Don't mess it up!
