Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Mario Black
Steam ID: 76561198023916999
Ban ID (just the numbers): 5775
Ban Reason: G2.3 (Roleplay Everything) G2.4 (Value of Life) C2.3 (Combat Logging)
Why do you think you were banned: To be completely honest I was banned quite a while ago now, so I cant exactly remember what it was I did in full. I believe I did something along the lines of killing a police officer and a few innocent people, then ran away as the PD were trying to shoot me, and after that I believe I just left the server, I left the server as I had to get ready and travel to work that morning and had no intent of returning. If there was more to my actions I am very sorry, but I cannot remember as it was a while ago, sorry again.
Why should we unban you: I personally loved this server when I played it and it was a shame to myself that I had done something so stupid to ruin my chances of playing it again. I am very sorry for my actions and whatever they might have caused to other players, I never had any intent in my mind to ruin anyone else's RP. I feel like overtime I have matured as a person and would now know not to do something as stupid and childish. Overtime the time I have been banned, I've played more FiveM and now learnt and understand how to stay in Character at all times. To be honest I cant remember the NVL part of my ban but I do now understand how to value my life at all times. In the future I will try my best to avoid Combat Logging however if I am in a scenario where I have to leave mid RP again I will make sure to follow the correct precautions. Thank you to any member staff that takes the time to read and review my appeal.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Good evening,

It's been some time. What brings you back to RPUK specifically?

I'll try to refresh your memory on why you were banned. Report Link. And for ease, quoted directly from the handling of the report:

As seen in your video Id 104 attempts to stab you even though he is at a complete disadvantage [ You had a gun pointed at him ] ] which will fall under the value of life rule (G2.4) the person in question proceed to break roleplay and say he has to go to work in real life which will fall under rule (G2.3) he then decided to log off to avoid the situation (C2.3), while it's understandable that real life is a priority, It is up to the player to avoid getting into a roleplay situation if he has to go and doesn't have the time to finish it.

Hopefully, if you're able to recollect, you'll be able to answer any questions more accurately.

Can you quote the rules for which you were banned, and explain why you believe they exist? What do they prevent?
As this was a mistake that you made years ago, I'll make the assertion you've changed; however, if you had the ability to go back and prevent it from happening, what would you do differently?

Good evening Scott, hope you are well! Firstly just want to say thank you for responding to my appeal.

Indeed it has been a very long time since I was banned. To be honest my friend recently got me back into playing fivem properly and to me there is no other server out there like rpuk, so I would love to come back and play it with him.

Let's start off with c2.3 or combat logging which is logging out of the server during any rp scene or if you are downed/incapacitated. I believe this rule exists for many reasons but mainly I would say it exists to maintain fairness, for example if someone logs out during an arrest (like I did) or after being killed it's not fair for the players that provide high quality roleplay and stay throughout the whole scene and gives those players an unfair advantage, another reason it exists is to keep roleplay as high quality as possible at all times for everyone involved, for example when I was getting arrested and decided to f8 it broke the immersion for the officer dealing with me and quite frankly ruined the whole roleplay scene and for that I can only apologise for everyone involved with that scene. Having the combat logging rule in place prevents players from acting like idiots and avoiding the consequences, for me I avoided getting arrested and getting jail time. So as a whole c2.3/combat logging is in place to maintain fairness and to keep roleplay at a high standard at all times.

G2.4/Value of life, Like you said Scott it has been some time since I got banned so to be quite honest with you Scott/staff I do not remember fully what happened with the nvl part of the report put up on me, I'm not sure if I'm being stupid but in both clips on the linked report I'm already downed, but from reading the report it seems I charged an armed officer with a knife which isn't realistic at all as 9/10 times I am going to die/lose that battle. G2.4 or "Value of life" I believe exists to keep a sense of realism and immersive roleplay at all times. It also keeps balanced roleplay at all times the rule gives fairness in robberies, kidnappings and scenes with police etc. The rule prevents players acting like they're invincible, without the rule in place it would be carnage with people running away from kidnappers and police with weapons or even doing the opposite and charging at them with weapons.

And lastly G2.3/Roleplay everything, which is remaining in character at all times, which I did not do. I believe this rule exists because if it didn't we might as well just play gta online! Staying in character is essential for playing fivem as it preserves realism and the immersion of making a character and roleplaying. For instance when I spoke out of character it instantly broke the immersion for the officer dealing with me, so again I can only apologise to him for that. Without this rule in place rp would collapse and have no meaning behind it. Having this rule in place protects the quality of roleplay and helps everyone enjoy the game more.

If I could go back and change what I did to prevent this from happening, to be honest with you I wouldn't have even got on the server knowing I had such a short time before I had to leave for work, and if I was to go on the server I certainly would no got and get into a full roleplay scene.

Thank you for your time

Sorry for my delay in responding @hw007xx. I forgot about this, many apologies.

Thank you for your detailed response; it is greatly appreciated.

It has been a long time since your ban. Given this, I'm inclined to believe you have matured and changed from the individual who got themselves banned in the first place. I am content with allowing you to return, but first, I need to know a couple of things:

Any ban issued within 6 months of your unban date will be automatically permanent and will require an appeal, in line with the Fair Ban System (FBS). Do you understand this?
Since appealing, have you read our rules? If so, do you have any questions or uncertainties you'd like me to explain before returning?

Hiya Scott
No worries about the delay

I understand what your saying about the Fair Ban System (FBS), I have read through to rules just to make sure I am up to date with the rules and to see if anything's changed since I last played the server. I do not have any questions or uncertainties for you to answer.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Wonderful,

In which case, welcome back. If you do have any questions at all, feel free to open a ticket with the staff team directly on Discord.
