Dear RPUK staff team.

Firstly I would like to thank whoever looks over this appeal for the time they devote to it. I’d like to begin this appeal by showing my changed attitude by taking full accountability for my actions, both the RP ban and the discord ban. I’m going to try and be as blatant as possible and provide you with as much of the hard truth rather than trying to justify my wrongs as I did in my previous appeals.

Addressing the RP ban.

I was banned from the RP server because I was sitting in a discord server with other people playing on rpuk at the same time. I’d like to fully admit that I was in a VC that night while we were pushing cutlass. I was streaming my POV for people who couldn’t get on that night and I do believe others were in the VC maybe deafened maybe not, I cannot say for certain. What you heard in the audio that lead to my ban was two people getting clued up on how the fight was going (at least that’s what I believe it was).

At the time and in my appeal I lied and gave several false excuses such as it being a medal clip of one of my friends not from RP. I did this because I did not want to throw anyone under the bus as I knew there were people from grove in that Vc that night. Now I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I have no clue who was in the Vc to my knowledge Ramsay and a few other members were in the Vc but as far as I’m aware they were defended as both Ramsay and Leyton ensured strict rules for discord VCs to prevent such situations. Also there were people who are in grove but were unable to log on in the Vc and I believe that I began screen sharing my pov after I had been downed to these people (once again I cannot say for sure if the stream was on before or after I was downed but regardless a stream was on).

Like I stated earlier in the appeal I lied because I wanted to protect the people in that VC that night. However over the time I’ve spent away from the server I have realised that it’s on me for being in that VC in the first place when I knew I should 100% not be able to communicate outside of the game while I was playing and I take fully accountability for it and I can promise you if given a second chance I will not lie nor repeat any of these actions again.

Addressing the discord ban

First I would like to extend a special apology to stavik for my actions on the night I was banned from the discord server. I am truly sorry.

That night I realised that my appeal date was quickly approaching so I got on the RPUK discord server to see what was up and what had changed in my absence. This is when I started chatting to a few people in the general chat, at the same time I was looking at the banter channel I believe where there was a gag that it was stavik Bday and I tired to join in and @ed him and sent a message.

I’d like to make this clear which I believe I failed to do in my last appeal I did not mean what I said in any derogatory manner or to insult anyone. It was honestly my very stupid sense of humour which cased this. I also believe that there was an announcement or something to stop @ing Stavik I’m not sure if this is true or not because I only learnt about it after the ban. Once again I did not mean, never have meant nor will mean anything to anyone with malicious intent. I hope this can be shown through my community engagement which has only been positive in my opinion with me only messaging to help new players or those who need help in the help section of the server. Additionally I do not understand why I would try and insult staff and mess up this when my appeal date was so close. Hope fully this supports my case and I’ve not gone on too much of a tangent there .

I hope this new upfront and honest attitude shows you how much I’ve matured and I hope I’m given a second chance to prove this in game too.

I know I’ve been kind of brief in the events of the night I was banned for in game so if you need any more details from me or want to ask me anymore question please reply to my appeal so I can share.

Stavik had said prior not to tag him, people got timed out for this by our discord mods, even after all that you still decided to @ him, you may of not meant any derogatory or insults but you failed to read the room and jokingly did it because John had pointed it out which got you your ban.

What will you do to ensure this won't happen in the future?

Hi Mark, I'm doing well; I've been quite busy, if I'm honest. I hope you are doing well, too.

I had made a habit of streaming to people who couldn't log on in the same sense that I streamed to my friends who didn't play the server. I knew it was wrong and that, as you said, people could get an advantage from my action, but I didn't think anyone would really do this but ofc over my time away from the server, I had time to reflect and realise that in that situation someone could have tabbed out and used my pov to see how many people were in the building and that I was in the wrong. However, at the time I thought it was a grey area as I had seen people do it before but now I do realise that it is completely wrong, it's really a shame it had to come to this for me to realise.

How can we be sure to trust you after you lied to us? What will happen next time you and your friends are caught up in something?

I knew this question would be hard to answer, but I think this appeal alone shows my commitment to telling the truth. I know I lied on multiple occasions, and I take full accountability for it. To be 100 with you if I had wanted to lie and get in the same situation again, I wouldn't be sitting here wasting both our time. I think this ban has been a wake-up call to what my actions of lying can lead to. In the future, I hope to get less involved in Discord stuff related to the server, as it is more trouble than worth. For further reassurance, I don't mind having regular contact with staff to rebuild that lost trust.

Yes, to be honest, this is very stupid on my part. I was only paying attention to the chat that I had started with John in whichever channel it was, and had not minded any attention to any other announcements or chats, which resulted in me not having the full context

As I've said earlier, I have realised that Discord is simply not worth the hassle esp considering it is the sole reason for me being in my situation so in the future I hope to only use it for important server information and just leave it that rather than doing too much like I did in the normal and groups server as at the end of the day it's just a game.

What would be your plans with your character(s) if you were to be unbanned?

I can see on Aaron you've had quite an extensive history with groups will you be continuing your journey with any of the groups?

Hi @Mark I’m very glad to hear you are keeping well.

I believe that g3.1 (metagaming) is in place to ensure that all players get a fair and balanced experience in rp and maintain fluidity of rp

I’ll answer the plans question first. I would really like to explore new avenues of rp with my other characters such as Devon. I’d like to work towards making some sort of legal/grey area organisation I’d like to think. I also believe I haven’t deleted my Vikram character so I’d like to explore the legal side of RP with him for example going from a failed police officers to a good solicitor.

Moving onto Aaron and second question.
In my opinion I’ve been playing Aaron for an extensive period of time to the point where that’s my whole identity on the server. For this reason I would like to give him a sort of break (I will still play on him once in a while). You said that I have a history with groups and you would be right I’ve always had a goal of succeeding in grove but since my time away I’ve heard a lot has changed and thus I wouldn’t really like to get involved with that group unless I feel it has changed for the better.

As for other groups I’m not really sure since I’ve been away for so long I’d like to take fresh start if you will and see what fits me.
