Unban Appeal - Liam2502 - GTA RP

Liam2502

Location

Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Liam Obrien
Steam ID: 76561198388896521
Ban ID (just the numbers): 18947
Ban Reason: C1.1 G1.2 C2.3 C1.10
Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for bullying, RDM, and combat logging. At the time, I wasn’t thinking about the effect my actions had on others or how much it went against the rules. I was being careless and disrespectful, and I take full responsibility for that. I’ve since taken the time to re-read all the rules and understand where I went wrong. If I’m given another chance, I won’t repeat those mistakes. I now know how important it is to play fairly, respect others, and follow the server’s rules at all times.
Why should we unban you: It’s been months since I was banned, and during that time I’ve thought a lot about my actions. I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m ready to come back with a much better attitude. I miss being part of the server and want to return as someone who respects the rules, the community, and the roleplay. I know this is my second chance, and I won’t waste it. I won’t combat log, RDM, or troll anyone again. I just want to be part of the community in a positive way, and prove that I’ve changed.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Good evening @Liam2502

To clarify, due to an oversight on our end, you were actually banned for G1.1, G1.2, C2.3, and C1.10—not C1.1. We've rectified the situation, apologies.

That's quite a list of rules you racked up in one ban.

Can you quote the rules you broke, explain how you broke them, and explain why you think the rule is in place?
What would you do with it if we provided you a second chance? What are your plans if you were to return?

Thanks for clearing up the ban reasons. I appreciate the transparency.

Here are the rules I broke:
G1.1 - Initiating Roleplay
G1.2 - Random Deathmatch (RDM)
C2.3 - Combat Logging
C1.10 - Trolling

I’ll be honest—I don’t fully remember the exact situations since it was quite a while ago, but I accept full responsibility for breaking these rules. I understand that even if it wasn’t intentional, my actions negatively affected the roleplay experience for others.

These rules are in place to make sure everyone has a fair and enjoyable time on the server. They keep the RP serious, realistic, and immersive, which is what makes a server like RPUK work so well.

If I’m given a second chance, I’ll treat it seriously. I’ve grown up a bit since then and want to return with a much better mindset. I’ll make sure I follow the rules, stay out of trouble, and contribute positively to the community.

If I return, I’d like to focus on building a proper character, getting involved in some deeper RP, and being someone who adds to the experience—not takes away from it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hi [User],

Thank you for your appeal, though, I’m afraid we won’t be able to grant your request to lift the ban at this time.

Upon reviewing your appeal, it was immediately clear that it wasn’t written by you—but instead, was copied and pasted from an AI. The language, tone, and structure were so perfectly robotic, it would’ve made even HAL 9000 proud. The lack of personal touch or effort to proofread certainly didn’t go unnoticed either. It seems like you let your digital assistant do all the heavy lifting, and it didn’t even bother to check if the appeal actually sounded like you.

While AI is impressive, it still can’t replace the genuine effort and responsibility we expect from our community members. An unban appeal is a chance to show us you’ve reflected on your actions, and unfortunately, an AI-generated message doesn’t really demonstrate that level of personal involvement. Perhaps next time, take a minute to actually engage with the process yourself.

We recommend you take some time, think about what led to your ban, and write an appeal that truly reflects your thoughts—not just what an algorithm thinks you should say.

Best,
The RPUK Team
