Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for using the sessionheads command during an active gunfight that is a clear exploit used to see people's positions.
Why should we unban you: I have been thinking about this appeal a bit during my time away, a month isn't a particularly long time, but it's been a time to sit back and actually have a think about my ban and the circumstances leading up to it, so to get the obvious out of the way first, no matter how anyone looks at it, I was banned for exploiting, something I don't think I'd ever see myself getting banned for considering my tenure on RPUK but it's happened, I stand by my intentions but the way I went about the incident was wrong and I admit that, I've made a mistake and I have had bans previously, but for different things this is a first I will say that. I don't plan on being back on this page again, as a lot of time has passed since my last major ban, but clearly that hasn't gone as planned. I want to prove that I can be a good role-player and an asset to the community that I've played for so long, I initially wanted to make a ticket, to try and fight for my intentions but I took Jesse's words as they were had a sit back forget about the ban and just chill for the first week or so. I've been thinking here and there and considering my appeal time is up I've recently gone back over the report in question, gone over what was said and take his comments and my own actions into account.

I fully agree with my ban, no matter how I look at it or even at the time tried to justify my actions in the QE with the other community members, it's exploiting, if I had waited a short while whilst I was dead and I believed a rule was broken maybe things went differently but hey, no point looking back, it's best to look forward with that in mind I think I'm lucky to my knowledge and from most exploiting is a infamous ban within the community my understanding is that people who exploit want an easy way at things, taking shortcuts whatever route is easiest suits them best, the fact that I have been given an opportunity to appeal gives me peace of mind, I do not want to leave this community at this time and I want to keep having fun and enjoying the server as most are, but I think not everyone slips but anyone can, it's a wake up call for myself to try and stay on the straight and narrow, I know before this ban I had a one day ban for OOC abuse I was emotional during this time but I did not think I'd be back here on a permanent ban again. Since returning from my break I've tried my best to keep clean and not make the mistakes of my past self, so I can only apologise to the community members that were in that situation and to the staff members dealing with this appeal. Hello Jack,

I hope you're having a nice weekend and "enjoying" this freezing cold. To respond to your question, this is the first time I've ever done this in this manner. As I have said in my report I had tried to catch the rule breaks before whilst I was dead, but this time was different.

By the sounds of your appeal, you make out you haven't been in trouble all that much, however this is your 8th ban in your time in RPUK... Most (if not all) of them revolve around you becoming to emotionally involved and focusing on making sure you win situations or at least have the upper hand. Bit of a running theme, is this going to continue?

Thanks for your response I know I have quite an extensive line of bans, I can confidently say no this isn't going to continue if I was allowed back. This ban is different, I wasn't aiming to have the upper hand, but I genuinely went about the procedure wrong, and once that information sticks as Jesse had said I knew the information and may have allowed it to affect my judgement, even if that wasn't my initial intention. I've been emotional before and have been in times when I invest myself to situations where things are said or actions are done and have led me to be banned but I am actively working on myself and changing my attitude to such things.

If you're unbanned, what's the plan? Do you plan on continuing to play Mei? Are you hoping to return to Grove?
Are you planning on doing something new?

Thanks again for your reply, the plan is to indeed return to grove, on Mei as she is my main character at the moment and the connections and friendships I've made I do really enjoy she has been employed recently before my ban and this is something I plan to follow through and try and develop holding down a job as well as being a gang member, I don't plan on leaving grove anytime soon, but as you've said I plan to re-ignite one of my older characters most probably Ryleigh, The plan for Ryleigh was, to join G6 and try that out, as I've never really given that a go/Join NHS on that character as my last character on NHS didn't last that long as I was struggling with the medical side, but I haven't really decided on either path just yet. I am leaning more towards G6 on this character though as it's something I'm more comfortable with considering my time in the police on that character.

Ok, and the next time Grove gets into a conflict with another group, how do we know you aren't going back to the same things again?
Whilst you say this wasn't intentional, I do believe you have taken multiple approaches in the past to get the upper hand in situations or avoid losing, so what's going to be different this time?

Let me run you through you previous bans, so you can see what I'm looking at... While this current ban is a different thing to the others, it's all the same theme, to give yourself an unfair advantage - how you expect me to believe this time is any different? Reading your history here, I'm more of the belief it was an intentional way of gaining an advantage?

Current ban - Using sessionheads, given the advantage of known how many players there are and where they are

Previous ban - Repeated mis-use of OOC messages (This is the only one that hasn't been to your advantage)
Previous ban - Using the MPAP to run over players, while being completely aware it's not supposed to be used in this manner
Previous ban - NVL to avoid being taken hostage by gang members
Previous ban - RDMing Police with insufficient RP to escape arrest
Previous ban - Combat logged to avoid losing items

I appreciate these replies, I will say that during my time off I've been bettering myself day by day, working on myself as a person and trying to be more comfy in my own skin and all round taking care of myself more, something that's been a massive struggle for me. This month whilst yes I didn't plan on taking a month off, it's been a significant change in my outlook as well as my own personal development, my history here has been a sporadic journey to say the least, I initially joined to stay a short while, then something which developed into multiple years and several characters. Yes, I have not had a clean record, but since my most recent break a year ago I've been trying to stay away from getting banned and being back on the forums. I cannot erase my past and those bans will stick with me as long as I am apart of this community. I don't plan to be back here again and I will looking forward, if ever a scenario where conflict arises no matter the character or situation if I am involved, take a step back ask myself what can I do, what should I do and am I doing the right thing? I don't and haven't approached with that mindset since coming back but, given the circumstances and being back here again it's something that I can do to analyse each situation.

I will say that my recent ban and my time since being back having an upper hand hasn't been my mentality I've tried to argue my case in a previous report and I was wrong, I am not a perfect player or a perfect person but I learn, I want to do better and show that I can be better. I am in a much better mindset during this time away and I want to show being here isn't a waste of time, I am able to provide RP and a positive experience in this community. I will admit this ban doesn't play into my favour but I took into account the other players views to my actions, I objectively approached my own actions as well as Jesse's words towards my actions regarding this ban. My intentions may of in the past been in an effort to have the upper hand, the win, but here I admit fault, the way I went about the known procedure was wrong, and I was justifiably banned for what I did. I can only apologise, and say I will not be here again, I want to show that I am here for the right intentions and that I can be so much of a better version of myself you have seen in the past.

Hmmm, nep we've been here a few times already haven't we.

This is becoming too much of a recurring theme. RPUK only has so many passes to hand out to repeat offenders. So heres the stipulations I want you to consider before we can proceed with any decision making.

  • Any bans in 6 months land you back on a permanent ban (As per FBS)
  • Any bans within those 6 months will come with an automatic 3 month minimum cooldown
  • Any other bans for exploiting, are unappealable. Meaning no chance of return
