Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Reece Dunn
Steam ID: 76561198017271921
Ban ID (just the numbers): 19224
Ban Reason: C1.2
Why do you think you were banned: C1.2 Discrimination: Do not express discriminatory or otherwise offensive views. This is no place for racism, religious hatred, ageism, sexism, homophobia, gender or disability discrimination.

Due to the reason above aswell as the date of the ban I assume it is regarding a comment I made towards an arresting officer after a raid done on Azteca turf.
Why should we unban you: Hello,

I was banned on the 18th of November for C1.2. I reached out to staff through a ticket to address the ban as I was shocked by the ban. As a long standing member of this community, I understand there is no room for discrimination whether it be targeted towards friends or an opposing group in roleplay. Although I wasn’t provided with the reason, I took some time to reflect on the day leading up to the ban in order to pinpoint where I might have messed up and I’m going to have to assume this may be in relation to a comment I made to an officer during the police raid on Azteca turf.

On the day of the raid, we were set up anticipating a fight with NSC. In the middle of being ready to fight NSC, we were pushed by an ample number of officers where shots were fired from both directions. This was a long sit which resulted in the arrest of a few of us. During the arrest process, I was attempting to roleplay as a frustrated gang member and called one of the officers a ‘nonce’. Before I continue, I want to clarify that I’m in no way attempting to justify my actions but give context as to my thought process at the time. I don’t believe that my actions were justified or right. I can see how words like that can impact people but it was never my intention to discriminate or make the individual feel uncomfortable. I was using it as a form of insult towards the police officer and not towards the individual. Although stupid of me, I genuinely did not know this word is not allowed to be used in a roleplay scenario. Had the officer or people surrounding me type in LOOC or OOC I would have immediately stopped as it is never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Nobody wants to be arrested or raided as a gang member in roleplay but there is no room for making the officers involved feel as though their time is going to be tainted by words such as the one I chose to use that evening.

In the future, I promise to refrain from using language such as that against anyone in the community. I enjoy being a member of this community and I understand there will always be room for me to improve and work on bettering my roleplay and understanding of others feelings. I appreciate any feedback from staff and want to continue to better myself to provide a good experience for everyone here.

I want to sincerely apologize to anyone I may have offended and assure the person involved that it was never the case or intention to hurt anyone. I would have reached out directly to the one I made the comment towards, however, I’m unsure of who the individual is. It doesn’t excuse my actions but I promise that it will not happen again. If given the opportunity to return by staff, I will continue to improve and think twice before speaking, whether or not the comment is made IC or OOC.

I do also want to add that if there is a different reason aside from what I’ve mentioned, I’d be more than happy to address any concerns that staff have.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Good morning @Reece Dunn

I hope all has been well?

I would like to bring up a certain quote from yourself which I do not understand the reason as to why it would have been said "You're a nonce mate, you actually fiddle kids". I get people having frustration to a situation but to make such a comment is not okay.

Taking that comment in to account, why should I entertain this appeal?

Hi Jessie,

I’ve been good. Thank you for asking. I hope all is well with you.

There is no good reason or ways to justify that being said. I can’t make any excuse for it. In the moment, it was a big lapse in judgement to think that was an appropriate insult to make to anyone in the community, even if it was a roleplay “heat of the moment comment.” I understand as staff, you’ve taken on the responsibilities of ensuring this is a safe and fun community for everyone but that responsibility also falls to me as well. I can only apologize and take full ownership of what I said and promise that moving forward I will 100% refrain from making those comments again. Like I previously mentioned, I do want RP to be enjoyable for everyone involved and I would personally message the person I said that to if I knew who it was to apologize. I know an apology is just an apology but if given another chance, I can assure you my actions will reflect my promises. I enjoy being a part of this community and I want to prove that I can also make this an enjoyable experience for others as well. I’ve been dedicated to improving myself and will continue to do so.

Good evening @Reece Dunn

I hope all has been well?

Apologies on the delay, I was taking some time away.

Okay I have looked further in to this and I have some questions from concern;

This is your 4th ban, if you were to be given another change what would be different?

What can you bring to this community to make it better?

What will stop you from being banned within the a few months if you were to be given another chance?

Hello Jessie, I'm good thank you, I hope all is well with you too.

The delay is of no concern, I have to respect that all people have lives outside of RPUK.

This is my 4th ban correct, if I'm not wrong two have been for NVL, which I would like to say was unfortunately just due to a lack of judgement, a "heat of the moment" situation if you'd like. There is no excuse for those actions and I’ve since taken extra precautionary measures to ensure I avoid them at all costs. The third was due to the exploit ban I caught when rolling through the doors in the arcade, something that later on was cleared up once we were able to get some form of video evidence to back my case. I have since my 3rd ban been more careful with how I go about on the server, making sure that I record all my sessions incase anything would surface at a later date just so I can prove my innocence if need be, granted this isn't one of those situations as I did in fact step way out of line.

I would like to think that I have for a good time now contributed to the criminal scene of RPUK. I've worked my way up the ranks of the majority of gangs I have been in, having responsibilities such as dealing with the drug side of business, creating enjoyable scenarios and setting up contacts to broaden the RP between gangs.

I only recently managed to work my way up high enough in Aztecas to where I was appointed 2IC, a position which gave me the ability to further deal with matters surrounding the gang which I wasn't able to do previously, this is something I really found myself enjoying and i'd like to think I was good at it as well. Whether it was a business deal, recruitment or an issue with another gang I'd like to say that I was able to deal with them in a high regard to RP, something that I would like to continue being able to do. With every ban I have been handed I have always learnt from the mistakes and change things up if needed to ensure that to the best of my ability a situation similar to it won't occur again. A good example is from my 3rd ban where I have since swapped over to a full session recording, giving me the ability to provide my POV at any time needed.

I believe the rules followed by the appropriate bans are in place to ensure everyone enjoys their time in the community. I take full responsibility for my actions. I can’t change what I’ve already done, but I can promise that moving forward I will be more mindful of what I say and even in heated moments such as the ones with officers and the gang, to keep my mouth shut or find better avenues of roleplay. Everyone wants to throw digs at their “opponents” but there is a line that must be drawn and crossing those lines is something I will refrain from ever doing in the future.

As I previously mentioned, I want to continue to bring the roleplay that I’ve been providing to other gangs and to continue to enhance the “criminal” part of the community. I’ve always pushed for a storyline to continue in roleplay. I’ve been actively a part of a really great storyline that I cannot disclose in this report as I do not want metagaming to influence the course of roleplay for those who are unaware of it. In brief, it was a storyline that went over the course of several weeks that I continued to build up leading to the present day. I want to continue to push for creating more storylines within the criminal scene of Roleplay making it an enjoyable time for all gangs. It is something I take great pride in and want to influence everyone around me to also be interested in it as well.

With everything in mind, I can assure you that I’ve reread the rules and familiarized myself with it heavily to ensure that I’m not found in a similar predicament in the future. I can give you my reassurance but my actions will reflect my words if given the opportunity to return to RP. I understand that the staff have volunteered their time to make this a fun experience for everyone, and I'm not interested in being one of many who make it more difficult for them. I want to be able to return and prove that I will abide by the rules. If given another chance, I will not disappoint you.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this and I’d be happy to answer any other questions you may have.
