Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Reece Dunn
Steam ID: 76561198017271921
Ban ID (just the numbers): 19771
Ban Reason: G1.2
Why do you think you were banned: I was banned following the punishment from a player report, seeing as I was not back on FBS I was handed back a permanent ban for repetetive rulebreaks within a too short time period.

For context, this is the report: https://www.roleplay.co.uk/threads/report-a-player-reece-dunn-southside-gta-rp.428670/
Why should we unban you: Hi, I'd like by putting in the link to my previous appeal first, in there you can also find the one I had made beforehand, both of whom were denied. Though as the reason to my ban still stands the same I will most likely both repeat myself and miss out on certain information from trying not to repeat myself, alas I thought it might be best to put the link leading to those in here aswell, if whomever deals with this appeal feels there is context missing.

So, as mentioned in both my previous appeals I have landed back here due to a situation that followed after a shootout at pillbox, let's just say the whole situation was heavily dragged out and was going "on and off" for quite some time, anyhow it eventually resulted in me shooting an officer before what was deemed sufficient roleplay had taken place, which unfortunately landed me back here once again.

Now I wont go through all the buildup etc or what went through my mind as I feel I have said that multiple times in my previous appeals, so if that is still of any intrerest I am sure you can find sufficient information through there, if not just ask and i'll answer whatever question to the best of my ability.

One thing that have actually changed from my pov since my last appeal is probably the reasoning as to why I was denied in the first place, when I first got denied i kindof shrugged it off, but the second rejection kindof left a sour taste at first as I felt back then I had done everything in my power to prove that what happened was not meant to ruin anything, the fact that I back then just acted upon what I thought was right, something I have seen done so many times before without anyone lifting an eye had suddenly lead me with punishment. But I see now that there's more to the whole picture than just this one little situation, as Violet said in my last appeal; "how many more slip-ups". And this has kindof stuck with me, I mean it's no secret you can just follow my "path" this last 1 year and see that I have gotten myself into more and more trouble along the way, so naturally enough is enough. There has to be a point where someone is put on a break, whether they see the need of it it themselves or not, I for one didn't.

This however have helped me to return to the whole picture of "Roleplay" with a fresh pair of eyes, something which I have not been able to for a long time, the whole break from the "art of roleplay" have served me well, I have been able to put aside mentalities that I think was leading my roleplay to slip for months upon end. Now I will still to this day say that I am able to roleplay, and able to do so quite well, but I am however also able to say that my lows have only gotten lower and lower, to the point where the good I provide were not enough to justify for the bad.

With that aside, I'd like to say I feel ready to return to roleplaying, and naturally this would the place of choose to do so, if I were to be allowed back. There are still many things I would like to try within this server, for one looking into making a legal character of some sort, whether that would be one connected to a faction or not, I think what would be good is if I persue something that's not only playing on a criminal character since well, it can eventually grow to be quite stale, having the ability to swap between legal and criminal would what I think aid massively in both getting to further enhance the RP you are able to provide, but also see more sides of roleplay and how they are better dealt with.

I know I was already given my golden opportunity and having me here asking for yet another one is surely a lot, I just hope I can prove that this break has served me well in making sure I wont spiral back down the wrong path I walking down during my last visit.

If there's anything you'd like for me to add or comment on, just ask.
Thank you for your time.

Regards
//Reece
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Good afternoon,

There has to be a point where someone is put on a break, whether they see the need of it it themselves or not
Correct.

What steps have you taken to prevent this (G1.2) from happening in future, if you were to be allowed to return?
Is this the last time we see a "slip-up"? What assurances can you provide that we won't see you back here? And more importantly, waste our time on this appeal.

There have been repeated incidents leading up to where we are now. Do you feel there is a root cause or underlying reason as to why these incidents have taken place? Anything that connects them? Anything that could explain these repeated errors in judgment? Other than genuine incompetence.

In other words, is there anything you should be avoiding, mitigating, or outright eliminating that prevents these "slip-ups" from happening? And help push you on the correct path, that saves you and me from being here in future.

Hello Scott, I hope you're having a good day, thank you for taking the time to look over my appeal.
I'll go through the questions you had and reply to each and every one of them to the best of my ability.

What steps have you taken to prevent this (G1.2) from happening in future, if you were to be allowed to return?

The break I've had from RP have given me the opportunity to look at the situation and what lead up to it on a bigger scale to get an understanding on why things happened and spiraled down the way it did, I due to this can confidently say I am done with having these pointless slip-ups happen as I know I can deliver and perform way better than I have. I have come to realize I was slowly getting burnt out of the way I was playing which lead me to spiral down a path where I gave less and less effort into making sure others found pleasure in roleplaying with me, when it was at it's worst I only really had myself in mind, which surely caused a toxic form of RP that shouldn't be presented on the server, and definately not by someone who has been here for as long as they have, spending much time within whitelisted factions and some of that time also being in higher positions.

For me I think the most important thing moving forward would be to have a bigger diversity when it comes to what kind of RP i decide to take part of, whether it be legal or criminal, within a faction or not. Having the ability to do more than just one thing over and over I think will have a large impact on how I am able to perform as I will not be getting burnt out, if I feel like I am getting tired of one thing I need to have the ability to swap onto something different which hasn't been the case for me before.

There have been repeated incidents leading up to where we are now. Do you feel there is a root cause or underlying reason as to why these incidents have taken place? Anything that connects them? Anything that could explain these repeated errors in judgment? Other than genuine incompetence.
I'd say the main reason as to why I've landed here so many times in such little time is purely due to the kind of RP i chose to take part of, the last i'd say 4-5 months I played the server I didn't really engage in any other but hostile RP where it more times than not ended up in shootouts with either other gangs or factions. Sure this is definately a part of the RP that is bound to happen sooner or later, but when you actively choose to only engage in that type of RP you will eventually hit a wall where it heavily impacts your way of roleplaying as you're more or less just playing a "Realistic TDM" at that point.

Another part is that I failed to look at the bigger picture when it comes to a lot of situations, where I felt like what I did was justified even though on a grander scale it may have been lacking certain elements that could be crucial. Obvisouly I did not intend to cause harm in situations like these, but at the end of the day it were my actions and lack of knowledge that would lead to the situations spiraling out of hand one way or another.

In other words, is there anything you should be avoiding, mitigating, or outright eliminating that prevents these "slip-ups" from happening? And help push you on the correct path, that saves you and me from being here in future.
As mentioned multiple of my appeals I have had the thought earlier of making more characters where I can roleplay more than just as "Reece Dunn" which I think would help me gain more experience and knowledge to the entire aspect of RP, having to roleplay as a character that would have a completely different mindset compared to a say "gangster" would I think help a ton in making sure I can provide a higher form of RP at all times rather than spiral down the same path I had myself on last time I was here.

Having gained the knowledge and better understanding of what went wrong last time will definately help me moving forward as I am now aware of more than just the "slip-up" itself but rather everything that eventually lead up to them happening, something I will make sure to take advantage of moving forward to ensure I display a better version of myself at all times.

I hope i've answered all the questions you had, if there's anything you'd like for me to touch more on feel free to ask.

Reece

Good morning,

I am, thank you.

You've identified a critical lack of self-awareness and control (burnout).

What steps have you taken in your absence to better identify, understand and control this? I'm not talking about what you can do to avoid or mitigate these, but what do you do if you see it happening again, because it very well can. How you deal with it is essential.

You've touched on creating more characters, or opening more lines of roleplay, and it seems you've thought about it consistently as a part of your plan to return. So, tell me: what other characters do you intend to create, and what stories do you wish to pursue? Time to put your money where your mouth is.

I can agree that pursuing only hostile RP has led you to where you are today, and it often ends the same for all those who do the same. If we don't delete Reece Dunn, what would you do differently with that character?

Good evening Scott,
appreciate you once more taking the time to review my appeal, i'll do as previously and go through your questions and reply to them as best I can.

What steps have you taken in your absence to better identify, understand and control this? I'm not talking about what you can do to avoid or mitigate these, but what do you do if you see it happening again, because it very well can. How you deal with it is essential.
Well i've come to better understand how I start acting and the way I deal with situations depending on the state I am in. During the later This itself does allow me to better tackle the issue face on where I can make certain adjustments to how I play or what I choose to play as in an attempt to not further worsen the situation into something out of my control. Furthermore I have due to my absence more or less been forced into taking enjoyment with more hobbies and broaden the type of games I play to give me a better diversity, something which so far has not lead me to getting burnt out of a single one. I would say that having that as a "pillar of support" when I feel the need of it will help not let things get out of hand.

You've touched on creating more characters, or opening more lines of roleplay, and it seems you've thought about it consistently as a part of your plan to return. So, tell me: what other characters do you intend to create, and what stories do you wish to pursue? Time to put your money where your mouth is.
I have tried persuing a legal character before, although within the line of law enforcement, though I quickly learnt from playing that it didn't fit into my liking and I dropped it shortly thereafter. I at a later date did revisit the same character in an attempt to join the NHS, which I applied for and was accepted for interview etc, however, the idea was that me and a friend of mine were going to apply together and when he unfortunately got denied the whole idea kindof just fell to the side. Something which I would like to revisit and go through with, whether that be on my own or with someone else isn't of any importance to me anymore.

I would like to sometime further down the line touch on a character not bound to any faction at all, possibly seek into developing a character made for working just a "normal" legal job or perhaps even one day own a bussiness of their own, though I am not 100% sure of how I would like to build this character up so that is something I will have to revisit further down the lane.

I can agree that pursuing only hostile RP has led you to where you are today, and it often ends the same for all those who do the same. If we don't delete Reece Dunn, what would you do differently with that character?
I definately want to continue to RP as Reece Dunn as there are still many sides of the criminal world within roleplay I find enjoyable and would like to continue or further develop my character into, as he is the one I have built up from the start to where he is today it should be a shame to see all of that go to waste, I have built up so many different relations and contacts on him that I would like to still be able to use and reconnect with. Although I must say I do not see myself jumping straight into the world of gang RP as there are other avenues within the criminal side of RP I feel I must adventure further and get a taste of something new, I feel like at this point I have done the majority of things a "gang member" can and having something fresh would be nice, although I would like to do so on the character I already have built up over the past years. There are so many more things I can do with the character that doesn't have to be part of the hostility I took part of previously, and having the ability to develop a character already of some standing into doing something different excites me and is something I definately would like to try out. I can't answer for whether I would further down the lane like to get back into the gang aspect of roleplay, although I feel as of right now I want to try something different, even though it may be on the same side of the law.

I hope i've been able to touch on all the subjects you wanted answered, if there's anything else I further explain feel free to ask.
Regards,
Reece

Good afternoon,

I appreciate the level of detail that has gone into this appeal.

I am willing to give you a chance to return.

There will not be any restrictions placed on you. However, this is a test of your intentions, motivation, and self-control. If you return to the same path that led you here or fail to follow through on the points mentioned in this appeal, and you are permanently banned again, we will likely never consider an appeal. At that point, you're not worth saving or wasting our time.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

This can be considered a "golden" chance, depending on your actions moving forward. If you follow through and demonstrate yourself as a better member of the community, an appeal in the future may be considered.

Does this make sense? Do you accept this condition? @Reece Dunn

Good evening Scott,
I accept the conditions, they are more than fair. I appreciate you willing to give this golden opportunity, I will make sure not to let you down by falling down into old patterns.
Yet again I want to thank you for taking your time to deal with my appeal, have a good rest of your day!

Regards,
Reece

Very well.
