Why do you think you were banned: Hi staff, thank you for taking the time to read through my appeal. After nearly 12 months away from the server, and having a lot of time to think through what went wrong in the moment, I believe im now ready to make a return to the server and to show you all how much ive improved as a roleplayer in general and if given a golden chance to, show with actions and not just words that im here to follow the rules.

I metagamed in part of a situation involving Hank & the police. I logged on to the server around 2:15pm and began driving round searching for people to interact with. I drove down towards civ impound where i noticed 2 police cars chasing a low-rider style car with 2 people in it. The car pulled up to me where i realised it was my friend (I wasn't aware it was my friend at all prior to him pulling up to me, although he was in a discord server call with myself and others) he then jumped out of his car and in to mine which then lead to the police chasing after us for a few minutes. The metagaming still didn't occur at this point. After a short while we both decided to decamp from my car and attempt to run away as we both had some red gulls.

I ran through a car park where Hank was the only person chasing after me so i pulled my gun out and was tazed straight away and cuffed. I then went down and was being taken to pillbox where i began talking on discord to my friend where i told him to die so he could come to pillbox with me, ironically he didn't hear me as he was not in the call but Hank heard me as i was hotmic'ing. I dont believe Hank heard what i said, but during our conversation in QE i told him and was honest as id simply lost my head and i ruined the RP experience for both myself and Hank.

Immediately after it happened I regretted it, I lost my head in the moment and to be honest, the situation didn't even warrant the way I acted. During that period of time I was becoming frustrated with the level of RP that was present in the city, and I think it lead to boiling over and sort of a "don't care" attitude. On reflection i should have just stepped back from the server and reset, which is how id go about it in the future. I don't believe in the slightest it reflects myself as a roleplayer, ive always tried to make interactions enjoyable for everybody involved. With the previous metagaming ban I have. On reflection of my previous metagaming ban, I can only put that down to naivety on my part, as I was relatively new to the scene as a whole.
Why should we unban you: I believe after nearly 12 months away from the server im ready to make a return. During my time away ive stayed away from FiveM in general, opting to try and develop my RP in RedM where ive spent a few months and I believe that im a much better roleplayer because of it. I deeply believe I can provide a great roleplay experience and the time ive had away from the server in general has just amplified that belief. I know I now have 2 metagaming bans on my record but I think I deserve one final chance to show how much ive changed since then, the first metagaming ban being pure naivety, the 2nd one was negligence, If given a golden chance to redeem myself, I will not be back on this side of the forums whatsoever. I understand why the rules are present in the server and the ramifications it has on the experience when people don't follow them.

Since my time away from the server i have played in a few different servers and honestly, nothing comes close to the community that you have built here and i thoughroughly believe i can still be a great asset to it. During my time away whilst playing other servers, i tend to either stay away from discord, and if i am on discord and playing a server, i stay deafened for the duration of my playtime. I understand the severity of metagaming and the affect that it has on the players and i regret what i did massively and can only try and plead for a final chance to prove to you that ive changed. and start to begin to rebuilt the trust back with staff.

If i was to be given a chance, id be open to whatever avenue staff would take to allow it to happen, like any ban within the next 3-6 months being permanent. Thank you to whoever reads and takes my appeal forward, I appreciate the time and effort.

You mentioned you were frustrated with RP quality at the time. How do you plan to handle similar frustration now if it happens again?

In your own words, what do you think the biggest impact metagaming has on the server and other players?

If i ever have that feeling towards the quality of RP again, id finish the scene, take a step back and play something else or log off. I know everyone is here to enjoy their time and aslong as i focus on contributing positively, i know the RP will naturally be more enjoyable too. Id also have no issue with communicating where possible, with staff or other players on areas where i believe areas could be improved.

Metagaming ruins the immersion for everyone involved. It completely takes away any authenticity in scenes and ruins the hard work i know people put in to making these situations belivable. I know how important it is to an RP server, but RPUK in general, metagaming has no place. I don't ever tend to use discord now when playing RP servers. I apologise again and i can assure you im not here to break rules.

Also, in regards to where i may go with this character, i plan on continuing with criminal life and seeing where that may take me. I did have a police character that i really enjoyed and plan on trying to get him in either G6 or the police again.

How do you think the quality of your RP was prior to your ban?

Looking at your history you have 4 bans and 7 warnings, why do you think staff should trust you again after so many chances?
 
Hi again OneShot,

before my current ban id say at times some of the quality of my RP was inconsistent. There were some times where i was genuinely invested and creative and im sure people could vouch for me on that, and a small amount of times where i got lazy, which led on to some of my bans.

The few times i broke a rule was when i was stupid enough to focus on the outcome rather than the interaction, which i have spent a lot of time building and growing with during my time away, learning to slow down, letting the RP flow naturally and instead of forcing it.

As for the trust part, i completely understand that it’s not just something that i can ask for, it would have to be something that i can and would show with actions. I’m not asking for my history to be forgotten, but to be given an opportunity to show you that it’s genuinely behind me. Whenever i’ve been pulled by staff , or like the current situation i was banned for, i was always open, honest and cooperative (i hope Hank could vouch for me on this).

I know this would be a final chance for me, and i wouldn’t take it lightly. I’d just like the chance to show you my growth as a Roleplayer and to show you that i can and will be a consistent, respectful and reliable part of this community.

I’d understand that based on some things on my record that would potentially indicate that but i couldn’t disagree more. Ive always been a huge supporter of always providing good quality RP over just a quick win or gunfight and my time away from the server has further reinforced that for me.

Nowadays, i focus much more on building my characters story and always making sure the interaction is enjoyable for everyone involved, letting the roleplay evolve naturally and going with the flow as i find it always leads to way more exciting storylines.

I also loved playing on my police character too because it was never about fragging or gunfights, it was about interacting with the community.

After reviewing your appeal, follow-up responses, and time away from the server, I've decided to give you a final chance to show you have changed and improved.

We're willing to welcome you back to RPUK under the following conditions:
  • Any server rule breaks within the next 6 months will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  • At any time we deem you not fit for the community, you may be removed without warning.
Staff will be monitoring your behaviour during this period to make sure you are following these conditions.
