Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for combat logging. Rule C2.3
Why should we unban you: Hello, I am here today to appeal my ban from the server due to combat logging. I would first of all like to apologize for my actions. I do understand that C2.3 disrupts roleplay for others and does create an unfair experience for other players. I made a very poor decision and didn't consider the full impact it would have on the roleplay environment. I can’t remember if I was pissed off or bad judgement on my part. This was the very first serious server I had played. I take full responsibility for what did happen. I understand that I should have stayed within the RP scene and handled it in that moment or reported if I felt like something was wrong. I enjoyed playing on RPUK while I was there and would like a second chance from my ban a year ago to prove that I can follow all the rules and guidelines set and contribute positively to the server. I am dedicated to improving my behaviour so I can avoid actions that would break the rules again.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my appeal. I hope I am able be given a second chance and make things right.

I am not seeing any reasons why this happened in the first place, can you elaborate on why you decided to disconnect during that situation?

You also said you had internet issues which is not the truth, so how can we trust what you are saying to be the truth?
 
Hello Mark, Hope you are well to.

If you are referring to the scene at the mountains I F8 because they basically screamed at me. This was my first serious server. I wasn't used to that level of roleplay and being honest, I am very sensitive to loud noise due to me having surgery on my ear. It did frighten me a bit due to me not being used to that RP level and did hurt my ear a lot. I know it isn't an excuse to F8 now but I did feel quite scared in that moment and hurt. I regret my decision fully and have learnt from that mistake. I took a year off of RPUK to reflect on my poor decision.

I do admit yes, I did say I had internet troubles. I was scared at that time due to it being my first ever serious rp server and I did not realise the punishment it entailed and I felt hurt. I have spent a year reflecting on the punishment given and some time in other serious servers and I think I am able to come back as a new person. Better at roleplay, better at understanding rules and guidelines. I apologise for the peoples RP I ruined back then.

Is this the actual reason why you combat logged in that situation?

Honesty does go a long way in these appeals.

Hello, Hope your having a good day.

Yes that is the reason I did combat log in that situation. My ear now has a deformity because of that surgery

Hello! @Mark , hope you are having a good day. Sorry my reply is a bit late!


The rule C2.3 (Combat Logging) means you logged out (F8 Quit) during a roleplay situation. For example when you’re downed, leaving to avoid police situations. People can use it to get out of robberies. for example if you get into a shootout with police and you have a lot of items on you, you could F8 quit to try and save the items and not be caught by police but it can have other consequences.

The rule is in place to give fair play to everyone. it’s considered cheating because it gives people unfair advantages on situations that could happen. it could also be used to powergame possibly. it also can break immersion for other players in the server. For example if your in a scene with the police department and you spend an hour or more on the scene and the suspects just vanish.

Once again I would like to sincerely apologise for my actions.

I am happy with your explanation of C2.3 and why we have it in place, I do have a few more questions -

If you were put in your situation again and let's say you had to log out of an active scenario due to something out of your control, what would you do next time?

Last question for now but if I were to let you back into the server, what would be your plans with your character/characters?
 
1. I would make sure to open a ticket for staff to see and explain why and provide a clip of the time I had to log out. I would first try and rp it out though by saying I do not feel to good I need some rest so I am heading back to my apartment. If it is something out my control I would open a ticket and pop something in general.

2. So my plans for my character would be trying to find their feet again and getting used to the city for at least a week. I would then try to get a job, make some money and then try and meet some people as I am guessing some people may of left since I was last here.


Sorry there isnt much detail I find it hard with detail (IM dyslexic)

In future if you have to disconnect make it known in /LOOC or if you can't, make it known in #gta-fivem-roleplay or open a ticket with us to let us know of what's happened, however this isn't to be abused

Alright I am happy with this answer, now onto the finishing of this appeal -

So when you are unbanned you will be placed on the Fair Ban System (FBS) so from when this appeal is moved to "Unbanned" you will be on a 6-month period where if you get banned you will be back onto a permanent ban.

Do you understand/agree to this?
