Achoo! Hello there! Sorry about this...

I got the Flu pretty badly same as quite some people recently in the city and it gave me an idea!
Currently using paracetemol will just make you flop about a bit like your gramps... nevermind..

But what if:

You can catch the cold in city! (okey stop cringing and hear me out)

- You would only catch the cold randomly on small ammounts, so not every week. (low % chance of getting it)
- You can however catch it easier if you jump into the water a lot (your nan always told you not to go outside with wet hair!)
- it will start with some /e coughing here and there, then go into vomiting (remember the tutorial) and end with you fainting and flopping about
- When snow is around the % change of getting it will go up a lot higher (winter = tissue shortage)

Now, how to cure this new annoyance?

- Paracetemol will heal it either fully or in amounts.

Fun side bit, add an option to infect someone around you? *evil smirk*

So... why would we want this?

1. money sink (tiny but a sink non the less) Yeeyh for the economie. (stop yelling paracetemol ain't expensive!)
2. give paracetemol a use beside's ''everybody do the FLOP!'' (just press U if you want to flop *shrug*)
3. Give's people new ways to add something to their roleplay, some people might enjoy playing a sick mess and running around naked cause they've got a high fever.

Curious to see what you all think!

I love this idea tbh.

It's a good base to test out introducing sickness to the server - which could be added to as time goes on.
More sicknesses, different symptoms - screen going blurry, vomiting, blackout, fainting etc etc.

Within time it could be built upon giving more purpose and demand for GP appointments in the hospitals and possible prescription medications - antibiotics, strong painkillers, lemsips etc etc.

+1
+1 more as it gives additional opportunity for Mr Arthur to be even more of a hero

This idea is something i have tought about before but never spoken about.

I think its a really good idea and would bring lots of fun in to RP, especially too idiots like me. I would probably be sick all the time with the amount of stupid stuff i am doing.

Maybe bring in that if you wash your hands, it can prevent you from getting sick if you been around sick people.

It gives paracetamol and other kind of medications more reasons in RP. I mean what if you get sick and take the paracetamol, yes it can help. But what if you pass out from it. Maybe your character is having an allergic reaction to it? 👀

It could really give so much more fun RP for medics and people in to the city if different kind of medications have different meaning, and help for different things.

I know for a fact that i would have lots of fun with running after a few of my friends coughing on them because if i get sick then they will be sick with me :ROFLMAO:

+1 from me

Any form of giving an item an additional, creative use and offering both NHS and non-NHS RP avenues, gets a massive +1 from me

You could even further develop on this idea of a 'Cold'.

Instead of just a cold, what if a 'Unique Disease' or 'Unique Illness' was created unique to the City in RPUK?

What if when travelling in swamp-like zones, or in mud-filled places, you could possibly contract something like a state of delirium only paracetamol, or aspirin, could help cure, with LSD like effects?

What about the severe after-effects of drinking alcohol or smoking?

What if when drinking too much Water, you suddenly are struck by a bug of sorts and require pills to pop? (Yes, I reference McGee's insistence that something's in the LS Waters)

To be fair, a lot of this could simply be 'roleplayed', however I would argue that giving things a creative gameplay edge could make things fun for all.

I really like this idea too, the only thing I can think of is that if stuff like this gets added, we should also have ways to cure certain things ourselves before it gets worse (kinda like bleeding where it gives you a chance). Like, if we pass out, does that automatically mean NHS has to come and save us? Because right now, NHS availability can be a bit hit or miss especially mid day and early hrs of the morn.

Maybe it could work so that if you’ve been dealing with the flu or a cold for a while, it gradually gets worse and then you’d need NHS help. But before that point, there could be ways to treat it yourself with meds. Not sure if that makes total sense, but that’s kind of what I’m thinking

oh yeah the passing out would be the same as the paracetemol would do now, your muscles just decide to go floppy, it's your choice if you press U at the same time so you keep flopping like a fish and go for the /medical passed out with a high fever. or you just stand right back up and go ''can we go pharmacy for some para?''

but if you keep ignoring it like you would do a small bleeding wound i'm sure you'd need nhs same as if you woudn't eat or drink or keep falling with an injury but it would go pretty slowly.

The paracetemol will cure it, but you might have to take it a couple of times, OR if you neglect it for like days... you might have to go see nhs/lay in a hospital bed.

This would be fun for people that enjoy medical rp/morning sickness rp/want to see if they can still rob a bank mid coughing fit etc. (i do think you're aim might be a tad bit wonky mid vomit o.o)

Maybi getting a GSW can increase your chance of getting sick cause guess what, they ain't sanitary (shocker i know)

Brilliant idea. I'd love to get a cold and actually be able to treat it. I've always wanted to be able to use paracetamol and this is such an amazing way to implement it.
Especially a fan of it being increased depending what you're doing, i.e water and the time of year.

+1 Kinda

I like the idea, but I'm not sure if we consider the NHS bank account a money sink (we might), as currently we get paracetamol from the pharmacy and for me a money sinks removes money from the ecnomocy completely. If this was implemented, we would also need to implement medical vending machines around the city same as the food and drink ones to avoid any issues of stores not being stocked or being closed due to robbery. Always good to have a back up.

Gives the NHS another reason to stock in these pills at the pharmacies and;

- Creates something additional for players to spend their money on (think this is where the money sink comes, unless directly given by an NHS member for a premium charge during RP)
- Gives crims more opportunities to steal because of the 'constant colds' they're getting
- If the NHS money pot grows too large, then maybe our wonderful nurses, doctors and paramedics could call for pay-rises? The incentive for NHS employees to stay or recruit grows

I would still argue there needs to be a fallback like a vending machine for when all other avenues fall through. Many a time have I been injured and multiple pharmacy's have been robbed and therefore closed, and no NHS are around.

But I suppose if laying in a hospital bed were to remedy the issue, that would work too. There are a lot of fallback mechanics around the city.
