Re: the fix was quite easy for my machines.


I had a feeling that the problem was storage drivers, but mine were originally from Win 7, upgraded to 8, upgraded again to 8.1, and finally to Win10, so it's not so surprising that it screwed up.

It worked fine after a clean install, though, and I left it on the Microsoft drivers, they seem to be more stable than the ones Asus have for my mobo.

One of many reasons I hate upgrading to a new OS xD

I wonder if microsoft actually did any multiple drive testing... bet they will in future xD

I wouldn't bank on it   Although something like this is easy to miss in a test environment.

With a standard test environment, yes. I'd expect an OS manufacturer with this many years behind them to do more extensive testing though. Unless it only happens with very particular setups, in which case I can understand it.

Either way, hopefully everybody learns something from this xD MS learn to go fucking crazy with testing before releasing updates... and consumers learn to not install their shitty updates and let other guinea pigs go first xD
