People seem to forget that altis Life isn't supposed and never have been something you win 24/7 just because you got clapped in some gunfights dosen't mean a whole faction which rp standards are usually quite high should be removed. If you would actually come up with some examples and some videos of us "destroying" rp situations instead of whining on the forums....

I have one question just after reading all this. Please be as honest as possible. 

Before you load up the game, what is your mindset and what do you expect from the server eachday?

When you load into the server, what are you thinking then?

Don't Think alot tbh haha, just go in the game and have fun like. Fun for everyone is different but i sure as shit don't go around making anyone else have a shit experience and provide shit roleplay.  Can't see how it is relevant tho lmao..

The reason why it is relevant is because these days a lot of people have the mindset of, oh cant wait to get ingame to get some action and combat. Hence why the gameplay on Altis Life has changed. 

Where in the past most people had the mindset off, ohh what people am I going to encounter today and have a good chat with. In 2014 I couldn't wait to get home, login to the server and get on and just patrol with a nother officer and just chat with random people and just have a mare of a time. Civilians giving us really funny excuses that would honestly make you laugh until you cant breath. Watching 2 civillians trying to work together to achieve something was always funny, to the point that we just had to help them. Rebels making new reasons for why they have 5 ounces of weed on them etc and seeing how they try to roleplay themselves out of a fine. 

Thats why it is relevent. I dont know much about poseidan but from what I can tell they are the opposite of what a NATO force would be. Think on this server in 2015 onwards they had USMC or something?? Which I completely disagree with as they are just combat groups that seek action. 

Thats not what Altis Life is about, the LIFE part of Altis Life should give it away. Its about day in day stuff that happens in a city/towns. Not every day do you have 2 factions fightning it out unless you live in Syria (Sorry people). But we base the LIFE on Altis as if you lived in England or America or another 1st World country. 

Personally I think these 'combat' groups should not exist at all. No police combat groups, no rebel combat groups. None needed. All the police need are a specialised team that are a last resort for being called if there is a gunfight that happens. Not a first responder team. RTU or local cops should be first responders. 

Its peoples mindsets that have changed and that is why Altis Life has changed to the combat enviroment it is today. Help change peoples mindset back to roleplay and than so will the community.

I think something should be done about the runs payouts. I dont know what the payouts are now but what I have been told for example diamond gives more then weed or something so people rather do diamond then weed cuz no risk legal etc. Back in the days when we you used to do weed cops come and you try to escape for your life, there was action, fun, a bit scared for your run. Right now there is fuck all happening at the weed pro its just a dead building thats how bad it is. I know what Im saying here is maybe not helping much for the devs but I think they could have a look in to the prices they have put for each item and maybe lower it/higher it depends on what kind of item it is legal/illegal.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying combat and action. What is wrong is just wanting combat and action only on a ROLEPLAY server which runs a roleplay game mode, not a instant action game mode. Go play wasteland or KOTH if you want combat and action only.

Well thats the thing, people dont attempt the roleplay route much anymore. They just go straight for combat. Thats the whole point I have been making..... even though its a ROLEPLAY gamemode.

You lost countless amazing RP'er years ago, They moved on.

Petty bans, admin favoritism and when i was involved a total lack of respect. I spent 1000's of hours making the police work to end up being banned for a technicality. I ended up buying another arma 3 account to play on here because i loved the community that much.

Imagine spending 8 hours a day every day for 12 months on a server giving 100's of people a week good roleplay sessions even when it felt like a chore, while not receiving any credit or even being recognized as a person i guess i was just an asset, it was so bad that i spent countless hour in 2014 creating police documents (possibly the first training manual, there certainly wasn't anything used when i started) and training to make the police force as efficient but also fun. it was never published in the police but when i left it popped up with my name removed, got 0 credit for it it.  Fundamentally doesn't matter, it's a long time ago and i hold no ill will nor do i wish to visit it, it's just an example of how mistreated i felt.

There is a reason why this server is still here, a strong community and yes patient admins, i personally resent the admins here for treating me and my guys how they did but that is a personal matter and should have no regard how things happen going forward. My only advice is to the admins and that's recognize and reward the players that make the server a place worth playing in, the best players are the selfless ones who sacrifice their time for the server in order to make it a happy and fun place to be. You don't have to take away praise for the admins or developers or the hard working mod team, there is a place for everyone to have a rewarding experience but the unsung heroes are cops who put 1000's of hours into this not for any gain but just the benefit of the community. Admins mods and developers create and maintain the world, great players put that iceing on the top of the cake.

@DI Gill Well since this post was started loads of changes have been made, and our before strict stance to enforce the rules and protect the community has been dropped for a new ban system as a result of a community vote and as I have communicated our entire team as changed our personas to match the new system.

I am struggling to take anything away from your post as you are reflecting upon the server's early days and talking about the old system without providing input on how we could improve it.

We are now 5 and a half years into this and the community opted for a different approach already and so far so good.

We also have hundreds of amazing Roleplayers still here, people come and go that is the nature of running a community.

Yea i can, the favouritism of the poseidon in admin cases by the admins were definently criticisable. I can't tell how it works now, but back then.... UUh i cant even...

But well, a little corruption is expected since the poseidon featured a few admins in it's crew.

Yeah there is like 1 or 2 admins in poseidon and like 10 in the cops just stop crying if you dont have a clue and you dont even play the server
