Vehicle Dealership Transaction Cash to Bank Change

I gave this some thought after reading a report and thought to see what others thought about this suggestion of a change.

Currently when purchasing a vehicle from a dealership, the Customer retrieves cash from an ATM, as this is required in their pocket to complete.
On completion, the money 'magically disappears' into the business bank account. Transaction complete.

SUGGESTION

Alter the transaction so that the cash is transferred into the pockets of the worker instead.

This then requires the worker to be -trusted- to go and place the money into the business bank account, either via storage or ATM, or hand over to their working superior or boss to then process.

You could even add onto this that salespeople working at Vehicle Dealerships cannot process any sales unless they are clocked in (i'm sure many business owners would love a webhook for clock in/outs and when money is added or taken out of the bank account)

PROS

- More realistic transactions
- More potential criminal RP taking place, either via business theft or internal corrupt employees stealing money
- Encourages business management to be present or hired, allowing the businesses to have their focus on activity returned and shops open more
- Encourages more avenues and activity of G6, Police, Solicitor or Independent Security RP
- Negates potential future reporting on people taking advantage of money 'disappearing'

CONS

- Dev work, as a mechanics change
- Some businesses and players may be felt pressured to log in and it bring a feeling of the dreaded 2nd job (Although shouldn't business activity be monitored already?)
- Potential complaints about "We can't open our shop anymore as we're always getting robbed during sales" (Although RP issue, in my humble opinion)

DOES THIS CHANGE THE BALANCE OF THE SERVER?

- ..No? Although it will keep almost every vehicle dealership on their toes about their customers and surroundings. Lest we forget however, we can't forget this is Los Santos and GTA RP, not Second Life.

That's my two pence. Thoughts?

NGL I had this same idea the other day

To bring up another factor

How would this effect the second-hand market? Would the way second-hand trades are completed also require altering?

What I would not want this suggestion/change to do is drive an economy away from Dealerships and the second-hand market take priority.

I don’t believe any script currently covers this.

You put in a value on the transaction but all money handovers are done purely between the players before or after.

Only thing to add to this is that, when you put the value in it allows us to track street values of the cars. but aslo it serves as an agreement that the courts can get access to to show that you have agreed to buy the car for X cash

I mention the second-hand market not with any script in mind, as I am aware how it currently works.

My point comes more along the lines of a "butterfly effect", or domino effect, as positive changes can also have a knock-on effect whether due to RP or in-game mechanics.

Merely a discussion point!

here's me always putting 69 in.... facepalm

also +1 on the suggestion, creates more room for rp.

+1

Never made sense that the money just disappears.

From a G6/Crim perspective, would be nice if the money was stored on site in a safe or something, gives more locations for money transfers and more opportunities for robberies for crims.

I like the idea but i feel it would need a webhook that shows money being added and removed from the bank balance so owners can track it happening.

Especially in Mirror Park Motors where we frequently have lots of money going in and out the account.

Adding onto this:

If this alteration were to be considered (big if of course, as nothing is outright expected), my only request as a business owner is that we're given ample notice to the change BEFORE it goes live, so that we can guide players/employees on the changes and they don't think there's a bug and money has magically spawned into pockets! :ROFLMAO:

Hmmm, I think a lot of car salesmen will just get robbed too much though, I know it brings RP but I think a lot will buy expensive cars just to rob the money back.. maybe bank transfer's like most other things in the city to be more realistic, defo agree about the cash just going straight into dealerships bank is unrealistic

Good, dealerships are moneyprinters so it wouldn't hurt them at all. In the meantime it will provide opportunities for more RP in regards to prevention and protection, whether that is from G6 or from other groups, which will in turn provide more RP for police and CoC.

This is a 'Con' that I thought of.

To counter this, however, as I mentioned, is this not an RP issue to potentially resolve in RP?

Businesses are more mindful about how they open, when they open, the security of their day-to-day business and how this can be improved, etc.

I see it also as an RP 'Pro' to the below as previously stated:

- More potential criminal RP taking place, either via business theft or internal corrupt employees stealing money
- Encourages business management to be present or hired, allowing the businesses to have their focus on activity returned and shops open more
- Encourages more avenues and activity of G6, Police, Solicitor or Independent Security RP

Also a point;

It can be seen somewhat of a priveliged position for your character to have a civilian job that can potentially pay very well. Higher paid jobs with as much benefit should rightfully come with their possible dangers. It happens with criminal income, why not with civilian income?

🤣🤣 that made me laugh
