This post has had no activity, from either players or the staff team, since 2024. Since then, rule suggestions and discussions have moved to
Discord. I’m reviewing and processing the older suggestions here so they don’t remain open indefinitely.
There are several issues with outright banning this software or similar ones.
CrosshairX, or any other software built into FiveM or a monitor, doesn't automatically mean a player has a fragging mentality. It's everything else paired up with it. Sure, it's a symptom, or in some cases, a precursor, but exclusively, there's nothing inherently 'criminal' about it. Furthermore, if we were to 'criminalise' it, it would be nearly impossible to effectively police it, and would discourage players from reporting more serious incidents that they may come across, out of fear of persecution.
Those who treat the server as a 'fragging server' will find their comeuppance, if they haven't already, and this is a constantly reviewed issue. However, banning CrosshairX, through the use of C2.1, isn't an effective solution. I also agree that CrosshairX gives people an advantage to 'pre-aim' their opponents, but players can do this with or without CrosshairX, and it only really works if they've already got the 'drop' on another player, where the 'defending' player is likely already at a disadvantage.
The root issue stems from poor roleplay, altered frag-focused aspect ratios, graphics set to their lowest settings, and a heavily gun-focused roleplay style, along with the likes of CrosshairX. It is not just applications like CrosshairX.
Thank you for the suggestion. I understand the sentiment behind this post and the supporters of the suggestion, but this isn't an issue easily solved by banning the use of a few applications. This suggestion would struggle to gain implementation, and given that, it will be considered rejected.
