Air Tanks added to the marina

Brief Summary:

Air tanks added to the marina as a shop item to be purchased by people just as they would buy a smoothie from a 24/7.

Detailed Suggestion:

The marina has is a perfect spot for air tanks to be sold. There's a little cabinet/cupboard where people could come and use left ALT to interact with and buy air tanks, the menu would be the same as when someone interacts with a shop menu to buy smoothies, phones, radios etc except the marina would only sell air tanks and marina employees could order them from the general warehouse like shop order their stuff. Another option could be the same way G6, police and NHS have their clothes where they can select their uniform, the marina could have the same in the same cabinets as the air tanks, however to only have a complete diving suit, the diving suits are in the clothing shop an can be matched together and there's many different colour to choose from. I have done an event in the past where I rounded police, park rangers and NHS to help with a diving event and we used up over 300 air tanks between 5 people (excluding the whitelisted parties). They were all nice enough to come and help me with the event as it was something different to do for them, however it took a long time to set-up and police had to go back and forth to put air tanks into their boat for us to use.

The Pros:

- More RP with diving

- Diving events

- Recreational diving

- Treasure hunts under water

- MPO would actually be utilised more

The Cons:

- Dev work

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?

None that I can think of

+1 this will be great alongside the addition of police rebreather units so we can have unlimited oxygen to properly balance this.

How about its actually used to what is written in this suggestion? But it will most likely not happen (most of the time). IF it would be used ONLY to create more RP for the water world, totally agree, huge fan of the suggestion. But the comments show that many people have already something different in mind.

This is not a COPS vs ROBBER server, so we ALL should therefore push for more divers RP instead of using tools that are completely out of context. Why would a street gang hobo have an airtank in his pocket or in his car, that doesnt make sense. The police RP does include and I sincerely hope that many people are actually doing it, if not please report to me: Officer needs to go to his car, change into wetsuit, get the airtank out and then jumps into the water. Otherwise it would be imo fail RP, if you just jump into the water, pop your airtank on and carry on.

Unlimited oxygen? So if the public gets air tanks, you want the police to have unlimited oxygen to "balance" it? Police are overpowered as it is, unlimited oxygen in rebreathers does not make sense as they do not exist in the real world. Like it was mentioned earlier in this suggestion, police have a whole unit based for water based crimes and the best equipment to deal with it.

They do, they make you swim faster, much faster which means people will wear them constantly, just like they did on Arma 3 (this communities platform before FiveM was a thing)

Air tanks maybe, wetsuits no
Wetsuits are already available in the clothing shop and I believe and flippers don't increase speed, been chased by police who were wearing flippers and they weren't any faster

Correct, perhaps unlimited is the wrong word to use in this case, more accurately rebreathers would simply last around 6 times longer then conventional SCUBA equipment, you're correct not unlimited but a significantly longer bottom time then with regular dive particularly when considering bottom time and decompression.  Police should maintain a unit based for water crimes that should continue to have the best equipment to deal with it, this keeps balance.

I think we try get over the "police are better than anyone" thing so they should be allowed better always and think about equalizing it and allowing all to have the exact same, so it can be fun for everyone.

Not having a go at anyone and not at all saying that is what you are saying here, just saying it will be fair to all crim and police have the same in this instant. (for the RP and Content), also means no one can complain and moan about it being unfair on the crim side.

think about equalizing it and allowing all to have the exact same
The issue is giving everyone the same thing doesn't equalize it, balancing requires more then everyone gets the same stuff. The police is both balanced by what we have access to and then policy surrounding it (who, what, when, where, why you can use x thing) if people are given free access to air tanks it will only push further towards the already aids meta of going for a swim in the majority of pursuits.

+1 it will bring a new activity to the server. Could even have driving become its own economy with treasure hunting. And give the coastguard more to do.

Some people posting in this thread in disagreement with the idea are disagreeing BECAUSE they argue for one side either crim or police.

At the end of the day more content is better and a whole new area to explore opens up, and with it a lot of new avenues for roleplay and that should ultimately be the deciding factor.

Anything to do with server meta etc is merely an opinion, of what people might do. The fact remains that there will be new content.

Either way, if I am able to sell them and the air tanks prove to be some huge advantage; balance changes could be done to counter act those advantages
