CIVILIAN CAREERS

I’m fairly new here – this is only my second GTA server, though I’ve spent a lot of time playing ARMA 3.
I’ve been on the server for about a week now, and every time I’ve gone down and requested NHS, no one has responded. At first, I thought it might be the time of day, but I’ve played at all hours – early mornings, throughout the day, and late at night – with the same result. I’ve also heard other players talking about the lack of medics.

This led me to an idea that could help reduce the issue.

Suggestion: Civilian First Responders (Plain-Clothes Medics)

Allow civilians to work as first responders in plain clothes. These players would receive a notification (GPS or map icon) when a player nearby is down. If they’re close enough, they can respond, roleplay the situation, place the injured player into their vehicle, and transport them to the hospital.
Once the injured player has been treated at the hospital, the civilian responder could offer them a lift back or any other reasonable RP assistance.


Payment / Incentives

• A fixed payment per downed player (e.g. £5,000–£10,000), or
  • A wage increase while “on duty” in civilian careers (e.g. +£200–£250

Pros
•Less out-of-game reviving by friends
  • More roleplay opportunities
  • Less gear loss, which can lead to player burnout
Cons
•Time required to implement
  • Structuring and balancing the system
I fully understand there may be issues with this idea and that implementation could take time, so I understand if it’s rejected. However, losing belongings repeatedly isn’t fun, especially when you don’t always have the funds to replace them, and this could be a potential middle ground.
 
As an NHS main who has spent close to the last year role playing as an NHS worker I hate to say it but people do take us for granted David nailed it in his response we either

A. Get people just messing around because a medic is on duty and near them
B. Receive 0 RP from people
C. We treat someone and they just don't play it out (I have treat someone and done surgery on there leg and as soon as they hear recovery they discharge them selves and run off its infuriating)
In all fairness I do understand where you are coming from, there's been multiple times myself and others have died during a run and we put out a medic dispatch for nothing to come of it. Then later when we decide to just drive there we see 3 medics emoting/dancing outside pillbox, or chatting.
When you spend all your time treating an entire server some down time is needed we go from point A to B to C with zero time in between pretty much every night and yes we sometimes take breaks with colleagues and have some fun as if you try and join NHS you would understand why.

I've taken this from the NHS website to put some perspective into it

I waited around 40 minutes for a medic before bleeding out, are you lot inactive?
No, we are not inactive, but we cannot have medics on 24/7 as the role is really demanding. Our medics have to deal with people being verbally abusive over a game and are often targeted by trolls. Besides this, we have very limited medics that can be patrolling. If the server is full and we have 2 medics on duty, That means we have 1 medic for each 175 players. Sometimes people decide to die every 5 minutes causing a medic to be stuck going back and forth causing an even longer response time.

This reply is not all negative though i do agree something should be implemented
I'll float my idea I presented a long while back again; Community First Responders (CFRs)

Similar to IRL, It would be a part time job (similar to clocking on as a mechanic, hunter etc) and not held to the same standards as full time NHS and as such not have the same powers as full time NHS. CFR's could clock on, attend dispatches but only stabilise till the real ambo arrives or convey to hospital if there are no full time online / available. It gives an additional pathway for people to either join the NHS fulltime or engage in some part time work as / when required. This way it may also give people insight as to how the NHS in general are treated and hopefully carry over to their own RP when interacting with medics.
i rate this and think this has potential in terms of helping the server and the NHS, i do think there would be certain obvious restrictions such as they cant treat professional injuries unless high skill level and they cant help people to there feet but in terms of transport and stabilisation i think this is a good idea

I think the wage could be a good idea but the fixed payment personally i think would be a problem as NHS only earn £5,000 per player revived which would be an even bigger blow to people who do play as NHS, and then there could be the issue some one clocks on and just pay check farms clocked on without treating anyone

I think this would be a suggestion for staff and dev's to sort out and fine tune to make it work alongside NHS
 
maybe a new nhs branch? - i have nothing too long to add but what if nhs had a new section where they can hire civs specifically for this much like rangers with hunters and cannot have a criminal record to join this branch
