Prison Time

Hello everyone, I'm just going to get straight into it.

Prison time is dead time, I know a lot of people will get sent to prison and just flyout because there's nothing to do in there except from search the same 6 places and clean the same 30 odd tables. Now I get that prison shouldn't be fun because its a punishment but it literally just kills any RP opportunities.

IMO prison time should be about reform, I know we have recently introduce community service etc via G6, however I have only ever seen one example of this being used.

What I propose is more ways to get time reduced from your sentence whilst also levelling up some skills, for example we could have a "Prison Shop" where outside players can come buy stuff from the prison shop for a set price. The prisoners can only donate to the prison shop in order to take time off their sentence so no monetary value will be received by the prisoners.

Some examples I have are (please fell free to add any in the comments below)

I must mention that the XP received should be at a lower rate than the outside as people could just use it to skill grind.

Fishing? placing a small pond in the prison so prisoners can do some fishing, level their fishing IQ and then donate the fish to the prison shop in order for a time reduction - could also double up as a panning area again with specific prison items that can be donated to the shop.

Woodcutting? If that's even a skill within the city, maybe a couple of stumps that can be repeatedly cut and donated.

Crafting? As we already know you can find sheets of plastic inside the prison so why not turn them into zip ties/ plastic bags and them to be donatable.

Harvesting? A small patch with some lettuce and onions.

Street Cred? We can already find processed cocaine, maybe we could sell that to the NPC prisoners not for money but for a chance of other prison contraband?

I just think a little prison shop would be beneficial to the community and would bring some more RP to the prisons, I think the shop should be structured like the scrap man for the outsiders so just like set prices so no one has to manage it.

Pros
Makes prison constructive
Will make people actually serve their prison time therefore leading to more RP opportunities
Brings something different to the city
Allows people to better themselves

Cons
A lot of Dev work
depending on the items that can be donated could possibly take some RP away from Nobels etc

Here’s a idea…

Make prison skills they don’t effect your outside skills e.g
Shank crafting
Bin diving
scavenging

And these not be the normal 1-10 more like 1-100 so be awhile to max

Then also when being admitted to prison you get a “security box” where you can store items. When you leave prison then come back you get the same box back with all your items inside but to not make it op if caught in prison with contraband on you G6 seniors/command can authorise it to be searched then they would have to come into the prison to do it. This could lead to more rp with riots etc due to prisoners trying to defend their stashes

This leads on to having illegal items in the prison that can only be acquired in prison and people would need/want on the outside to where prisoners would need to acquire them then find a way to get them outside via G6 or other methods

Aswell I suggest there be a way someone can make a ticket with staff to be allowed a lifer prison character and only be accepted if they seen to have good Rp across other characters. These lifers would practically run the prison being they are in there all the time

Would be pretty cool to have more to do in prison for people who dont have that many months. But even people who do have alot of months would have a reason to fly in.
