Revert the parking fee update

It just doesn't make sense, I have roughly 500 cars and it costs between 500-1175 per car to pull them out of a public parking right now. IDK if this is per day/storm/whatever this would average out on 825 quid per car. I would be paying over 400k daily or per storm just to have cars?

I think this update was not nessecary and I think there's better ways to implement money sinks than this. Wonder what the community thinks about this.

My totally-unwanted 50p below :D

Full disclosure - I have no idea how the math actually works here. But based on what I’ve heard going around, I’ll throw in my take (and I’m happy to be corrected if I’m off).

So… let’s roll with the numbers as-is:
£500 per day, per vehicle. (heard some are more actually, but just for the "baseline")

Now, the average player has, what? at least 10 cars parked around the city?
That’s already £150,000 a month in fees -for just existing.

Then you’ve got the real collectors - the folks with 50+ vehicles, which are most of the long-term player base.
That comes out to around £750,000 a month (!!!)

Basically, every extra 10 cars = another £150K down the drain.

Now, I don’t know if the actual system is higher or lower, but either way… that’s a lot of zeroes to throw at people who just want to enjoy the game.

Even if it were £50 a day per vehicle, it would still get the point across without tanking everyone’s bank account. And at least players who go on holiday or take a break wouldn’t come back to find they’ve been financially obliterated.

So yeah - I get the idea behind it, but this change definitely isn’t new-player-friendly, and it kind of punishes those who are here to RP and chill, not spend their evenings grinding spreadsheets to pay car rent.

Again, this is my personal opinion, and I might be wrong, but it seems a lot of people in this thread or already on the server that have raised similar concerns.

Anywho - that's that :D

This Update harms both new players, old players and car collectors like myself.

I feel there are vastly better options to adjust the server economy than charging players to use the one aspect they more than likely do every day.

The clear answer to foregoing this is to buy property, but when you're limited to 5 cars on the most expensive property, you're still trapped into paying fees for simply owning the vehicle.

Not to mention alot of players use vehicles as storage especially early/new players. I don't think its fair to charge players 500-1k each time they are looking to bring their vehicle out for something as trivial as medical or food supplies...

huge +1

This is a potential point.

You could consider removing the limit on house personal parking entirely, to dampen the impact this has, although it may only be minimal.

However, I feel also not spoken about is that does this entire change also effect MECHANICS?

Less transport of vehicles because less used, less moving about. Mechanics stuck doing local jobs only. Pretty dull and counter-productive to RP.

I agree that there are better ways to balance out the economy... This doesn't seem like very balanced change.

Lao's pockets will start to hurt just because I am 'maining' Dante right now. Lao makes his living of selling cars and dice rolling @sp3ng

Maybe increase fuel consumption on all cars and increase fuel prices. Seems like the most logical 'easy way' to start a dip.

Well guess it's only a matter of time for Anne McGee to lose her NHS/Midwife job as I Refuse to pay this ''parking'' fee and shall thuss be forced to steal cars now on my ''legal'' character.

Sad such a huge change did not get put by the people first, I'd have been fine with it if it had been £50,- and would not stack. (had just taken away the off-duty payouts instead *shrug*)

IRL if parking is bloody expensive I simply Cycle, take the train instead and if that's not possible as here IRL i'd just refuse to go as well.

Let's all hope this was just a poor end of halloween joke to scare us... 🎃

I'm okay with it, think of it like a parking maintenance and storage fee, in the real world if you left a car in a carpark for 4 months it would probably get towed and scrapped

I think the issue with most people is more you have too many cars 😂 what the hell do you need 500 cars for

I own 63 tho I do keep wanting to drop that to like under 10

But I'm cool with the change Hell if you really want to, think of it like paying road tax and insurance

If Mr Shire is happy to pay everyone's fees for pulling out vehicles, then I also welcome the change.

No thank you. This is a game.

This sounds like punishing people for owning cars, my new character has to pay almost £1300.- to pull out her TORNADO 3. Ridiculous.
