Severe FPS drop

Recently my fps has dropped severaly and can’t seem to do anything to make it improve, even dropping my graphics setting to the lowest it can go still won’t do anything and I’m constantly getting 30 or below fps when driving round, my graphics card is a Nvidia RTX 4060 ti, anyone have any suggestions

GTA5 as a whole is heavy CPU based as far as i'm aware what's your CPU?

that's your issue then, for a game this heavy and gta being gta, depending on if you play on 1080p, 2k or 4k, you want to have a 7800x3d or higher for smooth gameplay

Have you checked for example the task manager what it is thats most likely bottlenecking? Should be reasonably obvious if you check the performance tab.
Also are you running any visual mods at all?

I had this issue a while back when I was running OBS on a 2k monitor because I had to record at 2k, this created problems. So if you've got any recording software running, check the settings for it, it may be recording at too high a resolution to be feasible
