I've had trouble with shadowplay before. However, alternatives like OBS could work for you.

Are there any updates to fixing the problem? I know at least one other person has had his appeal approved but has not been unbanned.

Same has happened to me, still waiting. This may be a reoccurring problem with their systems. Hopefully a nice quick fix will do the job.
