Why are we starting to ban players for actions deserving of a warning? Or just a quick speaking to?

Some will some wont, Everyone is busy and they have 375 slots, an active forum and around 300 players on teamspeak all at once at peak times.

We would rather people actually come to the forums, see we have rules (which they usually don't know about) and deal with it that way, Thats something that wont change as its worked very well for 2 years now.

Don't mean to sound like a dick but isn't it the staffs job to help people who play the server. A lot of people come on here without reading rules so more complex rules like NLR could easily be solved by a quick chat, that's just my view on it though.

TBH, an Admins decision is final - and can be appealed. Some scenarios may be wrong in the eyes of some, but right in the minds of others. I do agree to an extent with your points however we do have to consider the bigger picture, if one gets it - others will want it and will complain until they do. Alone from mentor statistics having a 5 minute chat would result in a approximately 25000 minutes worth of conversations...

Perhaps warning points instead of bans could suite some cases, however as I previously mentioned and admin decision is final and available to be appealed within consideration :)

But I have to agree, some cases may deserve a warning point over a ban :)

(just my opinion)

My issue is, I have read all of those rules multiple times. Yet nowhere does it state I can't carry two people, or use my vehicle inventory through a window? Yet both things will get me banned. Although a lot of exploits and rules are obvious, there are also a lot of rules that aren't written anywhere. These are the ones I think there should be lenience on.

@DagreWhy should these exploits be posted in the rules to make people aware of them? That could cause people to USE them instead of STOP them.

Same with most exploits/unwritten rules; they can't be posted because people may use them in wrong way thinking they can get away with it.

Common sense/ asking staff BEFORE risky behavior is the way forward.

I'm not asking for them to be written there, I'm asking for admins to use common sense themselves. Is carrying two people a big scary exploit that ruins peoples experience? No. So why would anyone expect a ban for that when many police have done it before? Just like, it used to be allowed to use the vehicle inventory through a window, now it isn't. But SOME players wouldn't be aware of that, since many other communities allow it.

In the spot mate!

" Why are players getting banned for that? It should just be accepted that mistakes happen, comp and move on. Do people actually get pleasure out of banning people? This is meant to be a community, and for a long time it's been a great one. But when you've got people who so called 'invested' into it, STATING they didn't even bother to try and resolve a situation before the report, kinda says a lot.  "

Altis Life UK is a serious roleplay community, If you are coming from another Altis Life community please erase that memory from your mind as things are much different here and very much focused around RP rather than combat.

That is why just because it's allowed on other servers it doesn't mean it's allowed here.

If ANYONE is caught exploiting they are banned. I have ACCIDENTLY escorted two people whilst being a police officer, mistakes happen. However I immediatley unescorted them and stopped them. If a CSO/PCSO does it they'll be told by academy not to.

We are NOT like any other community. We DON'T have the same STANDARDS as them.

Lets not go into specific exploits

could i just interrupt with a noob question

what do you mean "carrying two poeple"??
He means escorting multiple people at a time.

Which for the record is not intended and thus is an exploitable bug like any other that may be present in the game.

There are no admins btw..... it keeps being said, there are none... nil...nada!

So what, I have to assume EVERYTHING that isn't listed as allowed is an exploit? Because that's dumb. Is landing a helicopter at a car garage an exploit, because everyone does that? Is storing salt inside of a HEMMT waiting for the server restart then immediately selling afterwards for best price an exploit, because that's allowed? Don't spout high standards at me when there's so much shit you're allowed to do that could be seen as exploiting. Stuff that other servers don't allow. All I'm asking for is some leniency from the staff members when dealing with some stuff. Stuff that isn't immediately obvious to most players.

A simple in-game text to admins asking 'is selling from my truck considered exploiting/allowed?'

A simple visit to the attention room for a question.

A simple message to someone on teamspeak asking

A simple OOC message

A simple asking around your group if there's a concern

I just want to warn you about what you say in this thread mate. last time a thread like this was created it cause a lot of shit and in which led to a community ban. If you have a problem take it too the admins directly and not create a thread on it , as its going to annoying a few of the higher ups. So in the nicest way , please be careful what you say / how you say it.

If somebody wants to community ban me for a forum thread full of creative criticism they can go ahead. It's neither abusive or toxic. But a lot of this needed to be said, and clearly 40 other people agree with me. But thank you for the concern.

I don't get why you're so pointlessly arguing, my point still stands. I'm not here to argue what's an exploit and what isn't. But SOME people deserve leniency, even if maybe they could have asked a question first.

To me it comes down to common sense, if it's a bug and not intended to be used in game and you benefit from it in some way then it's an

exploit

I just enjoy playing the game
wait... it's a game?

And here I am thinking it was real life dragging 2 people by their cuffs (which if you've ever worn them is NOT comfortable, specially if you're claustrophobic)  was realistic....

Yeah okay, there'd usually be a lot more struggle, but cops don't tend to point guns at heads IRL... and If a "rebel" had a gun to me and a friends head, whilst we were tied up... I wouldnt want to get either of us killed...

I don't know why they were banned, but lets just get back in game an have fun. the unban appeal can be dealt with swiftly. Our staff work hard, mistakes can be made, but I'd rather they ban for something they believe is wrong than let a rule breaker get away with it.
